Does not work

I bought this off shoe flash cord to use with a Vivitar DF 383 flash on my Pentax K-x camera. The flash behaved normally on the camera's hot shoe with good exposures in TTL mode. Using the off-camera cord, the flash will only fire when the flash is set to 'manual' mode and will not fire when set to 'TTL,' making metering off camera impossible. I have seen similar comments for similar products sold under other brand names. It is impossible to know if this defect occurs randomly or is systemic to the product. I do not recommend purchase as it is essentially useless.
