About Vivitar

The Vivitar 95mm Multi-Coated UV Filter is manufactured from high-quality solid optical materials. The filter is heat-treated to avoid any rare movement or distortion. The Multi-Coated UV filter removes and absorbs ultra violet rays, giving sharper contrast to your digital images. This filter is designed for use with multi-coated lenses.

The Ultra Violet filter minimizes the bluish cast sometimes found under daylight conditions. This filter will renders your photos clearer, sharper and with more contrast. For those who enjoy outdoor photography, especially distant vistas, a UV filter can produce a more distinct image by removing much of the color aberration normally associated with atmospheric haze.

It's just a UV filter

from SF Bay area  -  Photo Enthusiast

What can one say about a UV filter. It's good if you don't notice any problems. There were no problems. It fit my lens perfectly. Test pictures showed no problems with the optics. I'm happy with it. It's a great value.

Don't do it

from USA  -  Semi-pro Photographer

The filter got stuck on my Tamron lens the first time I put it on and I was NOT trying to tighten it. I needed a rubber band to grip it to get it off (great trick to know) but I think it ruined my filter threads in the process. Even worse, the significant degradation in image quality is very obvious to me. By the way, the Vivitar multi-coated UV filter is okay.

does what it,s supposed too

from cape may nj  -  Pro Photographer

good product good price. the purpose of a uv filter is pretty much to protect your objective lens. any kind of glass cuts down uv. the multicoating in your lens gets rid of about all of it.although all filters are made of optical glass, even if there is(slim to none) a flaw you wont notice any ill effect from it. get close to a chain link fence and focus on a subject 20' away and you can see what i mean, the fence will vanish, as any filter save your cash for something more useful than an overpriced lens protector.

New Lens, New Filter

from Maryland

Recently purchased a 650-1300 mm telephoto with a fixed sun shade. Wanted to protect lens and make cleaning easier. Searched a variety of online stores and was only able to find at Adorama. Product came quickly. Will definitely purchase from store again.
