Works great!! If you have a Canon Mark iii 5D you will need a cord to connect. The one it came with wouldn’t fit my camera.

I bought this item as a backup since I already have one and because I always lose them eventually. I also bought this item because they seem to be on the verge of becoming discontinued. I have used it for years and it is perfect. My only complaint for this item is the pc cord in the picture does not look like the one on the item that arrived. But, I have spares of those already, so, I can deal with it although it would have been nice to get the pc cord I saw in the picture.

Works very well, but there is no way to turn off the rather strong pilot light on the receiver unit. Thi\s is likely to drain the battery more quickly than necessary.. The only remedy is to remove the battery when not in use, but that may require re-synchronization (a somewhat cumbersome procedure) when you reinsert the battery. My other complaint is the manual which is printed in a font too small to read without a strong magnifying glass. I would have liked to download a readable manual from Vivitar's website, but couldn't find any.

I just purchased this product from Adorama about a month ago. I've been using it to capture pictures of the stars. My most recent session was a 45 minute, night exposure, over a Colorado ski area. I love that i dont have to worry about camera shake. This product has worked consistently for me thus far. The build quality is good and its portable enough to stash in my small camera bag. i would recommend this product for the Landscape photographer.

I had a wired remote and upgraded to this dual purpose unit. The versitility of the wireless is a great benifit.
