I'm done buying these.

I am through buying these. I have 6 or 7 dead External Drives. Doesn't matter who makes them. I Got Seagate, Lace, WD. Really you are just borrowing the information. I'm going to using Raid Storage.

Stay Away. Not worth it

By

from Texas  -  Heavy Duty User

It worked fine for about 2 years, but almost exactly on the 2 year anniversary of the date that I bought it, my computer wouldn't recognize it, saying that the drive had malfunctioned. This is my 4th WD hard drive to fail. Stay far, far away from this.

Lots of space, cheap enclosure

By

from Taos, NM  -  Frequent User

The drive is great and gives lots of hd space. The enclosure however is very cheap plastic and doesn't even have an on/off switch. Drive works fine though.

"Just about right"

By

from Olathe, KS  -  Frequent User

Works great with USB 2.0 although not as fast as 3.0. Plenty of room, so far, for my use. Only downside is that it takes a little while to wake up from it's sleep mode. Great product. Will buy another when needed.

No Headache Back-ups!

By

from los angeles, ca  -  Power user

Western Digital has produced an excellent vehicle for making backing up your files a plug in and forget solution. This device could not be any simpler to use. Straight out of the box and within minutes a default backup solution is in place. If you so desire you can customize a backup strategy, select your your content and drives, give it a unique name and you're off and running. There is very little hogging of the resources of the computer due to I'm sure some kind of cool technology. Every now and then a pop-up will appear that will let me know that all files have been backed up and protected. For the price and ease of use I would highly recommend this product. If ease of mind is what you crave this product delivers
