I have been looking to back up my photos, music and documents for some time. The idea of using an online service did not appeal to me. WD My Passport provided me with a solution.
The 2TB capacity is larger than my current computer's hard drive and yet it is incredibly small. 
The software is contained in the unit. All you have to do is connect it and follow the instructions. I like the fact that it is powered by a USB connection.
I can't accurately comment on the speed because I currently have a USB 2.0. The fact that I can step up to the USB 3.0 in the future is a plus.

A good thing in a small package

I just got it.  When I connect it via USB 3.0, the connection drops every few minutes for 5 seconds then reconnects automatically afterwards.  When I connect it via USB 2.0, the connection is fine and never drops.  I ordered a new USB 3.0 cable to see if replacing that will fix the problem.  Other than that, no problems.

All good except for one thing... USB 3.0

This is a perfect backup drive.  Small size but yet large capacity (2 TB), and powers itself when connected to computer via USB cord.  Much better than larger external drives with power cords.

Perfect Backup Drive

I have a 1TB version of this drive and have been using it daily for over a year.  I've only had this one for 2 weeks but so far it's been perfect.  I haven't used the software it came with but on a PC, it was plug and play to install start backing up.  Highly recommend!

Perfect backup solution!

Finally a drive big enough. I kept upgrading from 250GB to 500GB to 1TB and kept running out of room. This drive has plenty of room.

At last, enough room

I bought this high capacity storage drive as a secondary back up. I'm very pleased with the driver speed, software interface, compact size, and mainly storage capacity.
As of now on the market you won't find a storage deice with this compact size with 2TB capacity especially with that price.
I highly recommend it!!!!

Worth Every Penny

The deal on this website was the best I've found. The product is great! A large memory backup for all the pictures I take of my baby with my new camera which has very large file pictures. It is very small, so easy to store.

Amazing product!

Purchased to provide in-the-field backup for my photography. Takes up little space. Its fast. Its new, but since its a Western Digital drive I can pretty much count on its reliability after years of using their hard drives. (I've only had one WD drive fail on me in almost 30 years of owning my own computer). The case is plastic, but it is heavy plastic and appears well-sealed. It inspires confidence in the drive. The USB 3.0 provides a very speedy backup/synchronization process. The 2TB of storage ensures my laptop will be completed backed up in-the-field. I'd recommend this little beauty to anyone.
