I ordered this kit to be my main studio light for a small home studio. While I do think there is a place for this light, w/the 4-50W bulbs (the modeling bulb was DOA), I couldn't get above f5.6 at ISO 200, at 1/125 sec. And that was literally 6 inches from diffuser. It was f2.8 about 3 feet away. Since it was to be my main studio light, I need a lot more power. I think it would be a great addition to other sutdio lights, but it's too limiting for me as a primary light. I will be returning today. I would recommend as a portrait light

Westcott has once again teamed up with renowned photographer Bruce Dorn to create the perfect lighting kit for both photo and video applications. As seen on the Canon HD tour, this kit includes a Spiderlite TD5 equipped with the latest high-watt fluorescent lamps.
Paired with Westcott's new shallow soft box offering a 30% reduction in depth, this kit is ideal when working in cramped conditions. The included 1/4 Stop diffusion panel perfectly pairs with fluorescents as it allows for greater output while still maintaining softness.
Whether shooting photo or video, constant light allows you to see lighting patterns instantly with no second guessing. Rated wattage = 750.
