About Wimberley P20

The Wimberley P20 quick release plate for lenses is made of silky-smooth anodized aluminum, with anti-twist flanges to trace the edges of the lens' tripod collar. It fits all the Arca-type quick release adapters, which are made by many different companies such as Acratech, Arca-Swiss, Foba, Graf/Studioball, Gitzo, Novoflex, NPC and (of course) Wimberley.

Wimberley P20 Features

  • Dual Safety Stops: The safety stops at the front & back of the Wimberley P10 plate prohibit your lens from accidentally slipping out of the quick release adapter(easily removed with supplied hex wrench if desired)
  • Double-Dovetail Cross-Section: The Wimberley double-dovetail design allows attachment of their Shape Shifter flash bracket system to the upper or lower surface of the P10 plate
  • Works with All Common Flash Brackets: Drilled holes accept flash arms from Kirk & Really Right Stuff; Combine with two Module 1 Quick Release Arms(B&H item code "WIM1") for a brilliant support base for using your long lens atop a beanbag

Well-made, confidence inspiring

I bought this specifically for use with a 300/2.8 when a tripod or monopod is needed. It will also serve well with a 70-200/2.8. The machining and details are top quality. As a result, the fit with top quality heads by RRS, Kirk, etc. is perfect. Attachment to tripod is fast and sure, and I know I can count on things remaining in place. The length of the P20 is sufficient to allow proper balance with my Canon lenses and bodies. A longer version such as the P30 will give more adjustment range (sliding within the head clamp) if you want it to function in the manner of a macro rail. Be sure to use the anti-twist screws.

Works as it should

I added this plate to the tripod collar/foot on the new Nikon 80-400mm lens. I did not like the short foot, and I wanted to be able to use the lens with my tripod or monopod. It aligned perfectly and does what I expected.

nice plat

recently i have purchased a redged ball head from adorama which came with a plate.Plate was poorly made & my canon 100-400 kept on rotating and slipping off the axis .changing to this plate solved that problem as it came with a non rotating mechanism.excellent plate.
