I've been looking for a shoulder rig solution for my DVX200 for several months and been debating if I wanted to dish out the money for this. I'm glad I did. It works well. space is tight for quick release plate, but that's the camera not the recoil rig. I ended up getting the z-finder evf after seeing the construction of this. It's my first Zacuto product and I'm pleased with it. The tightening knobs are great, they have a bit of a ratcheting function where you can tighten then pull out to ratchet back and then tighten some more. I really like that feature. Rods seem really sturdy. I might get a cheap rail block though. I would definitely recommend this. as the cushion is great and I like how it allows you to place the camera further back to balance it easier on your shoulder.

Zacuto believes Recoil rigs are the future and they want you to adopt the Recoil philosophy with a Gratical HD EVF! To highlight the perfect partnership between the Gratical HD electronic viewfinder and Next Generation Recoil rigs, they are offering unprecedented bundle savings. The Cine Mini EVF Recoil rig is compatible with cameras that already come with a top handle with 1/4 20 screw holes, like the Panasonic DVX200, Ursa Mini, AJA Cion and more. It places your camera comfortably Upon your shoulder and includes a handgrip and 15mm rod lock to attach to the top handle.
This is a Next Generation Recoil rig designed for optimal balance and comfort when shoulder mounted or on a tripod. With lenses and cameras being similar weights, the balance point is where the lens meets the camera body. In a Recoil rig, the balance point needs to be directly over your shoulder which puts the camera behind you. This requires focus, monitoring and camera controls to be relocated forward, creating a lighter and shorter rig.
