This is a great product. I have not compared it with cheaper options but I imagine I would be disappointed in anything less than the 'real thing'.It exudes quality which gives you such great confidence when using it. The thread is fine and requires an awful lot of turns to get it seated correctly; I also found that a tiny tiny bit of Vaseline eased the threads and stopped them squeaking. All in all, highly recommended[...]

A brilliant product. I have not compared it with cheaper options, but I am sure I would find anything less than the real thing disappointing. It exudes quality and therefore gives you great confidence when using it. The screw dial to allow you twist the camera round from, e.g. portrait to landscape, is just brilliant. Only slight downside is that the thread is so fine that it takes loads and loads of turns to seat into the telescope properly. I found a tiny tiny bit of Vaseline eased the threads and eliminated the squeaky noise I got to start with.
