It's easy shooting green!
Saint Patrick's day is coming. If you're wearing the green, try shooting the green as well.
As many Irish and friends of the Irish prepare to commemorate the anniversary of passing of the patron saint of Ireland (at least, that's what they're supposed to be doing), we all know that the color theme of the day is green. We've seen green beer, green donuts, green hair, and even green bagels in honor of St. Patrick's day. Guess what? There are also green digital cameras, and they're all available at Adorama!
If you want to bring the wearing of the green to the next level, consider these compact digital cameras which feature exteriors colored some variation of green. (Most of them are from Pentax. Hmmm.) Since most of these cameras are compact and have auto-everything abilities (some also have manual settings), it's easy being green.
And that's no Blarney.

O'Canon PowerShot SX260
Adorama price: $229.00
Sized to fit in a shirt pocket, the Canon PowerShot SX260 promises above-average image quality in relatively low light, thanks to its 12MP sensor, optical image stabilization, and slightly larger 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor. The camera features a 20x zoom lens with a 25-500mm (35mm equivalent) range. With the ability to focus down to 2 inches, this camera has a very flexible range. It is backed by a 3-inch, 461k dot LCD viewfinder, and can capture up to 1080p HD video at 30fps. SmartAuto intelligently selects the most appropriate settings based on 58 predefined shooting situations, and a GPS tracker can geo-tag the spot where you shot.
O'Fujifilm FinePix XP60
Adorama price: $199.95
The recently-introduced Fujifilm FinePix XP60 is one of several underwater cameras in our green collection. Featuring an internal-zooming 5x 28-140mm (35mm equivalent) zoom lens, the camera can be operated down to 20 feet, records 16MP images and even has a 3D mode (take two photos side by side, following included directions, and they are digitally merged to create a 3D image that can be printed on Fujifilm's proprietary 3D printing system. But even if you think 3D's a gimmick, the XP60 has plenty of useful features for catching snapshots in many conditions: optical image stabilization, 14-scene Scene Recognition Auto, up to 10 fps burst mode, HD video capture up to 1080p and up to 240fps at full resolution for cool slow-mo, in-camera movie editing, anti-reflective coating on the 2.7-inch, 230k dot LCD monitor, creative filters, and a low-light mode which combines up to 4 images to reduce noise and shake.
O'Pentax WG-3 GPS
Adorama price: $349.95
The next generation of Pentax's all-terrain ruggeized waterproof cameras, the WG-3 comes in a deeper, olive green, which seems to indicate that it is a serious tool with serious specs: a backlit 16MP CMOS sensor with a top ISO of 6400, triple shake reduction, deeper underwater capability, submergable to 45 feet. All of its rugged specs have been improved as well: it is shockproof for drops to 6.5 feet, crushproof to 220 pound force, and, like its predecessors, is cold resistant to 14 degrees F and dustproof. It has a 3-inch, 460k dot monitor and 1080p HD video capture, along with built-in GPS.
Adorama Price: $599.95
Pentax has dipped its tiny interchangeable-lens camera, the Q10, into the crayon box and come out with 100 color combinations, including 20 that have some variation of green, all available through Adorama as special-order items but I happen to find the Green body with Black Trim model pictured above to be my favorite. The Pentax Q10, barely larger than a deck of cards, is one of the world's smallest interchangeable-lens digital cameras. It's an expansion and refinement of this growing lineup of photographic tools. Those refinements include a new 12MP CMOS image sensor, 1080p video capture, shake reduction, improved performance and faster autofocus as well as a new lens and an adapter that allows Q10 users to mount any Pentax K-mount lens. It makes bigger interchangeable-lens cameras green with envy.
Adorama price: $199.00
A jewel of a camera, the Sony DSC-TX20 is a 16MP waterproof camera that is also dust and shock-proof. Features include an internal 25-116mm (35mm equivalent) zoom lens, 3-inch LCD monitor, up to 10fps burst rate, face detection and soft skin mode, motion detection, DSLR-like background defocus, smile shutter, and full HD video at 1080/60i. As a typical Sony, the TX20 has Sweep Panorama and 3D image capture using the same sweep technology. It has a lot going for it considering it is small enough to easily fit in a shirt pocket.
