The line between a mostly passive "Smart" TV and a personal computer has blurred, and with the introduction of the VioSphere, Nyxio is doing its best to erase it altogether.
The Nyxio VioSphere is both a full-fledged TV and an Intel i3 or i5 processor-driven personal computer running Windows 7. Unlike other "Smart TV" systems, which use proprietary software that provides limited Internet access, the VioSphere gives you the whole shabang.
Adorama is accepting pre-orders for all Nyxio VioSphere models, and will ship on a firstcome, first-served basis. Credit cards will not be charged until orders ship.
Dubbed by its creators a "complete home electronics ecosystem," the VioSphere multitasks, using split or multi-screen technology so you can simultaneously do video chats, online gaming, watch on-demand video or simply surf the web...and also watch any cable or broadcast channels using separate TV tuners and keyboard.
The Nyxio VioSphere has BlueTooth and WiFi capabilities, plays Blu-Ray, DVD and RW CDs, comes with a 500GB disk drive and 4GB RAM, and is equipped with a 10MP webcam and a built-in microphone. LED Flat Panel model sizes are 26, 32, 42 , 55 and 65 inches, and resolution is a consistent 1920x1080 pixels across the line. It comes equipped with one analog and one digital TV tuner and a remote control.
