NYC-based photographer David Bergman was kind enough to be the first guest for our new TechTock podcast. On each episode, I'll be talking to a different photographer about cool projects, cutting edge technology, and what makes photographers "tick."
David Bergman talks about his experience as a photographer for Sports Illustrated, on tour with rock bands, and of course, his famous Gigapan photo of the Inauguration. "The beauty of the internet is that there is unlimited space and it is just a matter of your own creativity," says Bergman, about the vision that drives him to animate and syncopate 1,300+ still frames from a football game to music, or to test out the Gigapan camera in front of a crowd of people.
Bergman also talks about giving back and the work he has done for the Heart Gallery and Do1Thing.
3 Things you'll always find in David's camera bag are Gaffers Tape, ear plugs, and a very special photo he uses to break the ice with musical acts.
2 photographers' websites David suggests checking out are Atlanta-based music shooter Zack Arias and Joe McNally's blog.
1 thing David really wants to shoot next is a huge world tour, something like a U2 spectacle.
To learn even more from David Bergman, check out his upcoming Workshops@Adorama event on May 20th!
