Photographers from all across the US and around the world are donating session fees on October 11, 2009 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the Images for a Cure group fundraiser. Orlando, Florida-based Kristen Weaver, founder and organizer of the group, spent some time talking with us about the project.
On October 11, 2009, photographers from all over are taking part in Images for a Cure, a great fundraising campaign for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Founder of the event, Kristen Weaver, talks to us about how the effort got its start, and shares where it is going, and tells some of the stories of why so many photographers have signed on to take part in Images for the Cure. All here at Adorama are proud to be sponsors of this worthy cause.
Breast cancer and other types of cancer have had an impact on the lives of many of the participating photographers, and for one participating photographer, UK-based Kat Humble, Images for a Cure is particularly meaningful, as she has just completed a course of treatment for her own battle with breast cancer, and October 11 marks her first return to her career. (And we hear she's still got one or two open slots for her cool pet portraiture work. Hurry up!)
Please give a listen to this episode, and if you can, get involved. If you can't get involved for some reason or another, at least please help spread the word among your friends and colleagues who may want to participate or otherwise get involved.
We're breaking form a little this week and skipping the 3-2-1 questions in this article. You can hear Kristen's responses in the podcast.
