If the four color options for the US market weren't enough, check out the number of color combinations available on Pentax Japan's 100 colors, 100 styles site.

The just announced 12.4 megapixel Pentax K-x will be available in four color options in the US market. But over on a Pentax Japan site, there's a custom color site for the K-x that shows a heck of a lot more color options. Pink and purple, Orange and green, are just some of the apparently possible combos for the new K-x, on-screen at least on the "100 colors 100 styles" microsite.

We're now accepting pre-orders for the Pentax K-x. Click here for details.

It appears that some Pentax fans over at the Pentax Forums have discovered a very colorful Pentax K-x page within Pentax Japan's domain. This just-announced camera packs a very nice feature set for a $649 tag that includes the 18-55mm kit lens.

As we here at TechTock don't speak a word of Japanese, we're going to have to do some more research on potential stateside availability of these ultra-customized K-x combinations.

Head on over to the K-x 100 colors 100 styles customizer to see more of the possible color combinations yourself. Let us know your favorite combo, even if it is classic black on black!

We want to know what you think of the potential for SLRs in colors other than black or silver. Do you like the idea of brightly colored cameras, or are you more of a traditionalist. Let us know!

Build it and they'll come

The Pentax K-x will be successful at stealing fashion conscious camera buyers who want to look great and have their work recorded on a quality rig at the same time. Pentax's colour range covers everyone, so there is no need to lash out at the colour you don't like. Just get the one you do, even if it is black. Navy has always been my colour.

History revisted

Henry Ford once said that "they could have any (car) color...as long as it was black". So sprang up GMC because they didn't have this limitation. I hope that it works and Pentax brings it to the US; my 5 year old already has HER color(s) pick out.

Cool!

I'm a black on black guy, but you have to go with the times. If that is what the future looks like, it looks pretty good to me! btw, I like navy and black...

The Pentax K-x custom color machine

I like the idea of color on small digital cameras, but for one that costs over $600.? I think it really cheapens what is possibly a good camera.

Just like the Model A Ford

All model T's were black, but Ford introduced body color with the model A. If Henry could do it, why not Pentax. Congrats for taking the chance, Pentax.
