Does what it's supposed to do

This item saved my Nexus 7 from being replaced with an iPad. The flimsy ASUS USB port was bent and almost unusable for charging the device. For the last few days, I "wiggled" the adapter to get a charge - and sometimes it would short out and shut the tablet off. Grrr. For me, charging through the pogo pins is a Godsend. Now, charging is a joy instead of a nightmare, and it looks pretty darned good sitting on the desk too. And for everyone complaining about the lack of an AC adapter - *please use the AC adapter that came with your Nexus 7!* Why do you need two? Thank you.

Solid dock

I do wish it could charge while the tablet is in portrait orientation.

Turns Nexus 7 into great clock radio

Does exactly what it says it will on the tin. Line out is flawless, and charging through the pogo pins with the Nexus 7's power adapter couldn't be more convenient. Very solid and just heavy enough. I personally use it on my nightstand to charge the tablet at night and use as an alarm clock, as well as for whenever I want to hook it up to external speakers. I wish it included its own AC adapter at the price it typically sells for. My Nexus 7 running 4.2.2 occasionally doesn't switch into Daydream mode immediately upon docking, but it will after being left for a few minutes, and it will start charging and using the line out immediately, so this may be more of a flaw in Android.

Works

The fit is pretty tight so most likely can not use it with most cases. No charger or cable included. Does not always initiate dock mode when I put my N7 on it (with N7 on and unlocked).

Awesome Docking Solution for the Nexus 7

I use this dock on a daily basis. It is plugged into speakers and the sound is perfect. The other thing I like the most is that it expands the tablet. Now I have two micro usb ports. One for charging and the other one for the OTG cable that is plugged into a usb squid. This gives me about 7 usb ports to use on my tablet.

Great accessory for the Nexus 7

Dock looks great and easy in/out of tablet using the POGO pins instead of usb port. If you are looking for a dock and have a N7, this is a great buy. No problem of accidental tipping over so far. It's very stable. I wish they allowed a true usb connection instead of just power and audio through the POGO pins. I'd love to dock the Nexus and issue ADB commands without having to plug in a usb cable. Not advertised as a feature but on my wishlist for future designs.

Solid build quality

This dock is solid. The only thing that you need to do to make sure this dock works is: have the latest update for Android.

Solid product.

This product works well. The dock apps by Google are nice but the play store has better options.

Asus docking strain for nexus 7

Easy to use with a simple drop in connection it would have been nice to have had a charger and cable packed with the docking station, but other than that, it is a very nice dock. The dock limits use to landscape format; the tablet will not charge in portrait.

Pretty good piece of hardware

It does what is intended. It charges and displays my N7 beautifully and has a bit of weight to it so there will be no slipping or tipping over while seated in the dock.

Not worth it, no AC adapter

It's a nice weighted hunk of plastic that holds a Nexus 7 securely, but for the price I can't believe it doesn't ship with an AC adapter, USB cable, and audio cable. Weak sauce.

Awesome

I use this dock next to my bed with an added speaker system and it looks and works beautifully. It quickly charges my nexus 7 and the dock mode gives me a great alarm clock. I use it to watch videos, listen to music. I am so happy that I found this site and the dock. 5 stars on both ends
