Shopper : Is this a fluid head?Harold H : It's a ballhead and I don't recommend it. Mine lasted about 2 months. I received zero help form adorama or manfrotto regarding my issue. Hope this was helpfulBOB R : no. It is an inexpensive head and it is not detachable. The tripod is very small and light and that is why I bought it.PATRICK D : It's fairy... fluid. But it's also very weak. Using a Nikon D3300 and 18-140 it would sag. Which was under weight by a few ounces. I had got it to hike. But honestly. Get a benro, a heavier stronger one. I only use this manfroto to hold lower weight strobes

Good product

Definitely compact sized, and will be much easier to transport around. The height is also excellent

Great product: My new standard tripod

Great product. I have been going through cheap Amazon / Walmart quality tripods for a while. I probably went through 3-4 before I decided to invest in a decent one. Pros: - No part of it feels fragile - The Camera mounting system is easy to use once set up - The ball pivot portion works great - Easy to get the hang of Cons: - Tilting camera vertical is kind of a pain b/c you have to spin the ball pivot to the correct position first - Having 5 sections to unlock expland/close can be a pain in the cold weather

Best low price Tripod.

I love the ease of use of this tripod. I use it with my Fuji?s. The best part is the thread on quick release knob. It is well constructed. The only down side is if you have heavy glass it makes the mount head sip a bit.

Just what I was looking for

The tripod was exactly what I was looking for. Compact, light and perfect for my DSLR with a medium size lens for easy transport and quick to setup and unpack.

Great for case uses, not for any type of MILC / DSLR

A good tripod for what the price is, but even with "only" a 3lb camera attached it becomes almost jello when fully extended. Great for: GoPros, Mics, Lights, Compact Cameras, Bridge Cameras, Cellphones. Bad for: Mirrorless and DSLR cameras. You can see my full review and opinions here: https://youtu.be/vxah5c-oIYs

Good quality at a fair, beginner price.

This tripod is great for photographers like me who are just starting to build a kit. It could use a level bubble, but it's weight, size, and adaptability is wonderful. Pros: size, weight, strength. Included case is nice and portable. Cons: Only comes with one quick release.

It´s a very good Tripod

This is my first tripod, and I found it perfect for my camera (sony a6000) I consider myself demanding on the material and how it looks the things I buy, and this article is very well finished. the screw to quick realese It is very practical As a point of improvement, the tripod does not have a hook to hold some weight for stability when there is wind

Great Buy for Beginer to Amatuer Shooter Alike

Light, compact, and functional. This tripod features everything you'd expect for the price point and exceeds expectation. It will properly hold a DSLR with a smaller lens - don't expect it to support the weight of a 70-200 f2.8 ii- no problem and the pistol style grip makes lining up your shot a breeze.

Sturdy, versatile, lightweight

I am a beginning photographer, and wanted a tripod to be able to take self-portraits with friends and family, nature/birding photos, and night photography. This tripod is great for what I need. It's very light weight and easy to set up and take down; sturdy, even at its highest extension; and super easy to use. I highly recommend it, especially at the great price I was able to get from Adorama!

perfect for the price

this is my first ball head, and on my budget it will do. I have tried some others, and they had much smoother action. But for the price, I love this tripod. It will be perfect for me, for now

Great overall tripod

This tripod is fairly compact and fits outside my backpack camera bag quite well. The pistol grip head turns smoothly and locks in place firmly. The camera is nice and secured on the mounting piece when attached.

Great for the price

Definitely sturdier than the cheap garbage ones. Toss a drop of WD-40 on the ball head to loosen it up a little.

Cheap and Convenient

This is a great little tripod for a backup or second camera recording. the legs are weak and light so it might fall over at full height and a heavy camera rig. I recommend it for a goPro or other light camera setup to timelapse or low angle capture some action.

Beyond impressed!

My 1st shoot using this tripod was with a D5500 and Rokinon 14mm 2.8. Shortly after starting I was hit with 10 – 15 mph gusts, it handled it like a champ!

Don't deserve the manfrotto brand

Just a pice of plastic very badly designed. I've seen the same for a fraction of the price with Slik brand. I'll have to get rid of it. But none will be willing to pay 100 for this. I'll have to move to Vanguard or something else.

Lightweight, sturdy tripod!

I use this tripod whenever I go travelling. So far, I've used it in Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, South Korea, the Grand Canyon, Portland, and more. Overall I am not disappointed. One of the great things is the relatively light weight of this tripod, and is extremely sturdy despite strong winds. The only downside I could say is the strap that comes in a bag is uncomfortable and can cause skin rashes on the shoulder.

The Manfrotto 4-Section Compact Light Aluminum Black Tripod is the lightest tripod in Manfrotto range and is the natural connection between a mini and full size tripod. It has been perfectly designed to fit all Compact System Cameras and thanks to its compact dimensions and feather-light weight, it is born to be with you always. With the universal 1/4" camera attachment and the new quick wheel you can attach and detach your camera in seconds. The built-in ball head and the single adjustment knob are perfect for quick positioning of the camera and for easy locking all movements.

The Compact Light Tripod is ideal for Compact System Cameras but thanks to the universal 1/4" screw thread and the easy attachment it can be used with a huge variety of digital devices up to 2kg/4.4 lbs such as the iPhone (with KLYP+), all types of Compact Cameras and Bridges. If using an entry level DSLRs with the Compact Light Tripod it is recommended using only standard kit lenses to maintain the same level of performance that you will experience with lighter cameras.

If you own a Sony Nex 5R/5T you have certainly noticed that these particular models have a very small surface area around the mounting thread. For this reason, in each Compact Light Tripod box, you will find a special adapter that will increase the surface area of these specific cameras in order to better grip the tripod and obtain maximum stability.
