Felix D : Will this also handle 3.25x4.25" film? Given that it can't be inverted... Has anyone tried using it for "stand processing"?

Good product

Works great. Easy to get liquid in and out of container. Didn’t realize I needed more than 1L of chemicals to fill it properly.

works, bt you have to be very careful loading

ok, it works, its brittle plastic, 30% of the negs will have some edge blemishes because of the way the film is held, it uses a lot of chemicals, but it is cheap, it does work. Oh and you have to keep your hand on the top wile moving it at all times, it doesn't snap down, its just sitting there. So if your ok with that, its a good tank for 4x5.

Quality below the price

I still can not use this tank. I got it with a broken lid. Although the quality of plastic is great for the use of chemicals.

Best 4x5 Daylight Tank Remaining!

This tank is a favorite with all of my college students in Large Format photography. It is relatively easy to load, produces good results, and once loaded in the dark allows students to process their film in daylight. It is heavy plastic so be careful if you have hard floors as it will develop hairline cracks. This is not as much a critique of the construction as it is the reality of use with multiple users. It is also the best of the remaining 4x5 developing tanks on the market. Great results obtained by beginners and pros alike!

Simple, easy to use, but......

Sheet film is good not just good for enlarging, but for 1 or 2 shots and fast developing which isn't feasible with 35mm or roll film. The Yankee wastes much one shot developer which I often use.

Works but tricky

The first thing you notice about the tank is that its cheap, fragile plastic. I cracked mine just taking it home but was able to repair it using superglue and fish tank sealant. Dropping this tank will be the end of its useful lifespan. I've been able to get consistent results without too much trouble. There are a few tricks. The first is to note the lid of the tank which states that you should only agitate in one direction. Follow that religiously and you'll avoid sticking your negatives together. The second is to overfill the tank. You're better off wasting a little developer than getting an underdeveloped top edge as its tricky to tell when the tank is full not. Loading the film is tricky. They provide a little slot that can help you load each sheet properly. I found this useless. I just very carefully count the notches as I load each sheet. Run your hand on the top and the bottom of the holder to make sure that you didn't slot two sheets into one slot. You should be able to feel this. Otherwise it works fine. Its cheap, its fragile, but it works. I'll probably upgrade to a metal tank in the future but it works for now.

This tank loading guide is marginal

I use it to hold & develop my 4x5 cut films. It is great, but would be simpler to use if only the indents for the film loading guide had deeper indents.Finding the next slot accurately when moving from one slot to the next during darkroom loading is stressful.Any suggestions ?

Avoid this tank

After several tries, I managed to get acceptable results without any noticable mottling. Then, while using the same procedure, I got mottling. You can't invert this tank so agitation is a problem. I've tried constant, mild and vigorous. Nothing worked with consistancy.
