Questions & Answers

Shopper : can i mount two sb800 speedlights on this?LOUIS M : Yes you should be able to mount two sb800 flashes. One will be horizontal and the other will be vertical. I'm not familier with Nikon's mount but if its standard you won't need adapters like with the Sony/Minolta system. You will need some way to trigger both flashes, PC chords to both or to one with a slave on the other or some wireless set up.PRESTON A : I am not sure if two flash units can be mounted on this bracket, however, you should be aware of a problem I encountered with this item. (This may be a bit hard to explain so please bear with me). I had a problem using this hand bracket with an off-camera cord. The mechanical interface between the off-camera cord's flash mounting head and hand bracket was not very sturdy and, during "normal" use, the foot of the flash mounting head broke. The flash mounting head does have a screw hole on the bottom where the mechanical interface can be strenghtened (with a bolt from below), however, there are no holes in the hand bracket's mounts to do this. The next time I will be using this hand bracket I am planning on modifying it by drilling holes so I can bolt the flash mounting head to the hand bracket. I hope the explaination of my problem with the hand bracket makes sense.KIRIT K : Yes you canLUCIAN C : I'm going to give you a qualified yes. I just mounted a Vivitar 285HV in one shoe and simultaneously a Promaster 7400 in the other. There was clearance for both.Ivan R : i bought this to mount a mic and a light from sony, i cant tell you that the cold shoe is capable of mounting those flashes, just make sure that you will have because of the weight of the flash to reinforce the cold shoe base plate...
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?LUCIAN C : I got this, in combination with the off-camera-cord, to mount my Vivitar 285HV above the camera and not on the camera's hot shoe.
