Shopper : I read the 'features' section on this and it mentions that there is a "revolutionary leveling center column". Since the photo does not show a center column, can you please confirm that there is a column?ERIC P : yup there is a column but i still search the revolution :)ANDREW R : This unit should include the "leveling center column".

Beats the pants off my Gitzo

A month ago I realized I needed a leveling center column for some of the work I'm doing. My existing tripod was a Gitzo GT2532, which I never had cause to complain about. However, the Feisol just blows it away. The legs are noticeably thicker, and the locks are much smoother. But most importantly the center platform is just massive. My RRS BH-40 looks puny on it. When I need absolute rock solid stability, I can pull out the center column and put in a flat plate, making the tripod a bare set of sticks. (Takes about 2 minutes to switch them.) But most of the time I use the leveling column. There's a twist under the center which unlocks it for changing the angle, and a twist above center which locks/unlocks it for vertical movement. It's a great design. And it just feels nice to use -- very solid and well built. Not to mention it came with a real tripod case.
