I often have to take shots at a wedding reception. The issue is that it's hard to focus in the dark. This light is light and can provide just the light I need to focus.

This light will only attach to your speedlite one way: on the top. What if you are pointing the flash away, bouncing it off a wall ? You've lost your light source. This could be designed much better if the light could still be pointed at the subject regardless of where the flash is directed.

** Based on reduced sales price ** Haven't used this much, but here are my initial thoughts / observations. - Neat as a fill light though personally, I would hold it separately/ have someone else hold it to fill in the area required as opposed to sit on top of the camera mounted flash. - LiOn rechargeable great idea - common Canon equivalent. supposed to "click" into place. Can see that falling out all the time (as evidenced by other reviews). Will try some sponge / padding material to make that less likely.Other option is to tape it down every time u put in the battery. - strap is a good idea but not enough loops - on small main flashes - may not be tight enough. - would be a good light for light painting & pretty useful as just a quick use torch ! - Build quality not super but hey for this price, whadya expect ? Overall : (at sale prices) a potentially useful piece of kit to the strobist/ hobby flash camera bag.

4.8 stars... This is amazing led light for: 1. Mobil photography (range of 5 to 8 feet), in very low light situation. This my second led light of this soecific brand and model... I usually use a Iblazer2 led light, but It is not strong enough, USD.30.00 more spensive but it's more compact and has a shoe mount to camera... If you put a shoe mount for camera or 1/4 screw will be 6 stars! 2. For auxiliary Auto Focus led light (low light situation)... 3. Day light portrait at no more of 5 feet...

This does the trick - I wanted it mainly to help my autofocus, which has trouble in low light. One thing to watch out for - my speedlight (which I just use to trigger optical slaves) is quite small. as the Speedlight Partner straps onto the speedlight the small size has resulted in it falling off a couple of times, so I needed to use some padding to allow the Partner to stay attached.

Very poorly made, and did not function well with my equipment. Felt like it was a waste of time and money! It could have professional adjustable light intensity, a lithium-ion battery for longer service life, and high quality leds.

Ever attend a party, or a wedding and try to capture the happy atmosphere, happy faces, energetic dance moves in a low light room and your expensive, powerful camera and lens get stubborn and won't let you click? The battery is constantly falling out. I stopped using it and bought a camera that focuses in low light. Soooo, I thought I would use it as a flashlight I put the battery in the charger and the little green light came on and nothing happened. Not impressed. I now will probably not ever buy anything from Flashpoint. If they put out one bad product, why not another. Maybe if I had bought another product and had good luck I would feel differently. That's a risk you take when you put out a poorly designed product. It taints the rest of them.

Adds just enough light to really improve my video quality. It is made to strap onto your on-camera flash, but I also strap it to my left wrist when using my compact camera! Works great.

It great. In low light situations, it allows my camera that extra bit of light to be able to focus on my subject. It convenient as I can be attached to me flash so I don't have to lose the moment or the shot looing for it. A must have when working in low light!

Overall impressive for the price. Uses a Canon style battery so if you need another should be easy to find. Instructions were a bit lacking. Did some web surfing and found additional information that I shared with Adroama Flashpoint experts. Haven't used yet but trial fittngs and pics were very good. This will definately come in handy for low light focusing and videos with my Sony a77II DSLR .

Lightwieght and very bright for it's size. Very atractive price. Uses a Canon style battery so if you ever need another shouldn't be too hard to find. Instructions lacking so I did some web surfing and located more information. Sent this to the Flashpoint experts for sharing. Haven't used yet but trial attaching and pics prove very nice. Should be a big help in low light focusing and videos with my Sony a77II DLSR.

You don't even notice it's on the flash. Helps with autofocusing in dark venues. Can be use hand-held or without the flash on as a video light. If using it at a wedding reception, have another set of batteries ready. Very handy!

Well packaged. Well made. Well thought out. Quite bright for it's intended purpose. Looks professional when strapped on to the flashgun and fits like a glove on my 580 EX II.
