I purchased this extra set of batteries, because I use my Nomad all the time. My son bought me the Nomad for my upcoming Appalachian Trail; however I lived in a tipi for a year, and WILL be living in one again, so these items are indispensable.

I can't imagine it being better than they are. The work perfectly. There is always room for advancement in technology but for now these are the way to go.

These batteries have been in everyday use for months now powering radios, xbox controllers, and recharging cell phones. They've held up admirably. They hold a charge a long time and recharge easily. Everything you could want in a battery. The only con is that they are just ever so slightly larger than other AA batteries which makes it a tight fit in some devices, but so far they've fit in every device I've tried so it hasn't been a detriment yet.

It takes some time to charge the dead batteries through the solar panel, but the charge lasts a long time when the batteries are being used. They can also be charged on usb, which is much faster. The only thing that I didnt like is that the batteries loose they charge rather quickly when not used right away. But overall I am very happy with this product.

The goal zero NiMh batteries are very efficient, however, I have not had good performance from other NiMh rechargeable batteries. They either do not charge at all or do not charge enough. I live in Hawaii, so the efficiency of the solar panel is incredible (I have the Nomad). I can charge my Iphone directly from the panel in less than two hours...I recently tested with both the battery unit and my Iphone plugged into the panel at the same time and was pleasantly surprised to find that both accessories charged efficiently. I would recommend goal zero products, especially if you live in Hawaii! I hope to purchase the largest goal zero unit as a "back-up" generator for our home.

i like these batteries because they have a longer life span and no memory that i can tell of. im just waiting for the day when your company gets so large that you stop caring about the quality of your products. ya you might say it'll never happen but you'll sale out when the price is right and it'll no longer be your problem right? right.

Use them in lanterns; photo flash; battery grips on dSLR's; headlamps for caving; usually recharge fully in daily sunlight, and light cloudy skies;

i use goal zero products everyday and i am working on going off the grid at least in a large part by useing the goal zero products i show and tell everyone i see how awsome they are and many people are suprised at how well they work .

I use the batteries in my flashlight, camera, radio, and my security lights on my porch. I don't need to buy thirty to forty batteries a year, which I was doing.
