Seems to be a solid light for camping/overlanding. I have four of them to light an area, one is all you need for reading or cooking. They don't use much battery power.

Great product

Love the product. Love the cord line and the utility of it pretty much a Goal Zero fan across-the-board Since I bought one of the first Nomad 10's.

Great choice for an emergency Back Up Plan

I got 2 to complement my emergency backup plan. Now I have a total of 6 and if we have any power failure, I set then up as two in the kitchen, one in the living room, one in the master room bathroom, one in the hallway, and one in the house second bathroom. I use the Yeti 500 x (I own three) to energize the setting. One is set up in the kitchen to energize kitchen and living room, one is set up in the second bathroom to energize the hallway and second bathroom, and one is set up in the master room bathroom to energize the one there. In a most recent power failure event due to severe weather my neighbors asked me how come I had energy in my home. One of my neighbors had solar panels in the roof of his house installed by a solar power company but, his setting does not have any batteries to storage of energy, he is only connected to the power company grid and his electric bill get reduce but, what good is that when in a real emergency he did not have any power in his house! His system cost him over $30,000 finance while in my case I have been building mine little by little by purchasing the different components from Goal Zero according to my needs and expectations. As it is right now, I own a Yety 6000x, a Yety 3000x, a Yety 1500x, a Yety 1400, three Yety 500x, a Yety 150, and a Sherpa 100 AC. I also have 5 100W solar panels, 2 50W solar panels, 2 20W solar panels, and 1 10w solar panel. I am completely mobile with my system and still able to energize sections of my house with the Goal Zero manual transfer switch properly installed by a license electrician (it energizes my kitchen refrigerator, a small garage freezer, the garage door, and my house internet router plus ceiling fan in the master room). The light-a-life 350 led light is an A+ in my back up system since it can be connected in line, have two bright power setting to choose from, once connected to a system you can light up all at once by pushing one bottom or you can select which ones will be on while keeping the other ones off. Energy consumption is minimum.

This light is BRIGHT.

I'm amazed at how bright this light is! This is a perfect item to keep in the emergency cabinet for if/when the power goes out. Well-worth the price, I'm considering getting another.

Light A Life 350 LED Light

These lights are excellent for plenty of light coverage that won't blind you. It has two settings and can also be turned on at the connection. The construction is pleasing to the eye and not a strictly utilitarian design. The lights pack down to a small size when not in use by removing the globe and replacing it to cover the cable wrapped base. I recently just bought a couple more to go the the three I already use, which I've had for several years.

A must have!

WOW, what a great little 12v light! I was very surprised at how long the attached cord is. I love the versatility, any cig lighter, in any car, OR Goal Zero Yeti. Perfect for van camping.

Light-A-Life - Outstanding GZ accessory

This is a very interesting product. It can operate off any Yeti female cigarette lighter port or the 6mm port (I was told the 6mm port was a little more energy efficient). The design of the product is outstanding with 2 brightness levels, a cord long enough for any reasonable placement of the light, together with shaded or focused light. I highly recommend this product.

Perfect design and very useful

I never go camping without them. They make a nice light over the picnic table. They are well designed and easy to hang up. I literally have nothing bad to say about these lights. I have 5 now and will definitely buy more. Perfect for power outages also

Nice Lights

Bought these to spotlight products and/or add lighting to our night=time farmers markets. I really appreciate the fact they use very little energy and my goal zero 200 power all of it.

Lights up the Jeep nicely

In the field, rain falling heavily from the sky and bouncing off the canopy over the stern of the Jeep, I needed more light than the Jeep's overhead bar, so I wired up my pair of lights to the YETI 1500, and it lit up the radio, back of the Jeep, and documents beautifully. I think I will pick up a couple more.

Cool till you chain them

Huge Goal Zero light fan. Can't resist buying their latest gadgets. The 350 is great till you try to chain them. The receptacle connector at top of light aren't secure and a bit of tent motion easily disconnects the chain.

Goodby propane lantern !

For many, many years, I used either a white gas or propane lantern in front of my tent. I tested this 350 last weekend, and found it to be plenty bright to use. Clipped it to a tree branch just above and in front of the tent and found it provided plenty of light for my table and cooking area. ALSO: It used very little power from my Yeti 150.

Another great Goal Zero product

I have several lanterns, mini quad sets, lighthouses, the Torch 250 and a couple of the Spot USB Flashlights and like this very much. It will provide a very bright focused light and complement the other Goal Zero lights quite nicely.

I different beam pattern

Many reviewers say they like this light more than the original. I agree with many points on that. It is more compact, better cord management, two brightness settings, etc. You can read the other reviews for the advantages. My disappointment with this light is that it is not nearly as much of a flood as the original. The only way to really broadcast the light is to have the light hanging very high. This is not possible at times. I like this light, however, most of the light is directed straight towards the ground rather than being dispersed. It does not matter which position the shade is in. Again, my comparison is to the original.

Disappointed

I was excited to see this new version of the light a life as I had really liked the older version. I have 4 of those. It was a great concept however it does fall short. First the good. The color of the light output is like a regular soft white light bulb. I really like that it's not so harsh. I like that you can string them like the older version. I had liked the idea of storing the cord. Now the problems. The cord is so short it can't be hung up high enough with out some type of extension to the cord. That was really irritating. It just makes me think they want to sell one more item by making that cord so short. Next it appears that you can't change out the led if it burns out. Flipping the shade on the light is really kind of pointless. Goal zero this was a let down. Bring back the old version with a different color bulb. This version is less functional.

Love it!

The 350 LED light was everything I expected and is perfect for camping, power outages and overall general use when I need a bright light but am no where near a AC power source. Love it love it love it!

very nice and needed update

I have two of these, (and two of the two new mini LALs, as well as almost a dozen of the original LALs, power cords, accessories, Escape power pack, solar panels et al for my camping and hurricane kit) ... they are winners for sure. Only issue is some fear that ham hands make break the little switch while trying to turn it on or switch levels, better than it runs in a little channel so you can flip it only one way... With my original LALs I experimented w various tints and wattages of Edison base 12v LED bulbs but it's ice to just have the hi/low option and the movable shade. And it's harder to find anyone who breaks from the seeming M.A.P. pricing that is rampant on Amazon for GZ products. At our off grid remote camp we'll run 4 Boulder solar panels and string 6-8 LALs, 12v radio, battery chargers, etc... around and also use a homemade 12v power cable from an old auto battery. The new products just make things more efficent and effective.

Smart build / Brilliant design

Extremely well thought out features. Durable. Self contained. Bright enough for most any occasion. I picked up just one of these to see if these would be useful around the camp site and when working on the boat. There is more than enough light for all my needs. Portability is awesome too with the 8' of cable wrapping up into the casing = keeps the untangle cursing down to zero... is that what GoalZero means, zero curses? Ha!

Light-A-Life 350

I contacted your customer service with a question about a certain light I had purchased a few years ago. You apparently discontinued that light, but your customer service dept recognized a replacement light and sent me all the info and a link where I could immediately order this new light. I really appreciated that extra attention as I am old and not very proficient on the computer. I ordered two of them and am very, very pleased with the amount of light they put out. We made a subsequent camping trip to Colorado and everyone in our group was in envy of these lights!

The Next Generation of Light a Life!

By The W.

the Day I received the Email that the new Light-a-Life 350 was for sale I ordered it as soon as I could. Today I received the Light-a-Life 350 and had to try it out in comparison to the original. I have recommend the original Light-a-Life lanterns to many people due to the versatility of being able to use any 12 volt source, light weight, bright, low power usage, sturdy and handy. I will say that the Light-a-Light 350 will surpass it predecessor. It is smaller, lighter, uses one bright led wi...

Light-A-Life 2.0

By Colonel S.

The new Light-A-Life is superb. I have to admit, I was a huge fan of the original so I was a little skeptical about the new unit. I was not disappointed at all. The new light is smaller, lighter, is more versatile and it's totally compatible with the first Gen unit. This new Light-A-Life puts out a warmer light than the original. It looks like a quality 40 watt bulb on high and about a 25 watt bulb on low. The LAL has a small but very powerful magnet that makes hanging on any ferrous surface ...

New and improved! Bright LED light with 350 Lumens and adjustable shade for lantern or focus light. Plus high/low setting and integrated cord makes this the perfect light for every adventure.

Multipurpose Light
Adjustable shade design for broad area light or warm lantern light with high/low settings. Perfect for an outdoor camp or inside a tent.

Easy to Hang, Chain and Store
Built-in carabiner and magnets so it's quick to hang anywhere. Chainable with up to 8 lanterns. Features convenient cable storage.

Power from Goal Zero Power Packs and Solar Generators
Low-power draw for extended runtimes. Requires a Sherpa Power Pack or Yeti Solar Generator.

Powering
Power the Light-A-Life from the Sherpa Power Pack or Goal Zero Yeti Solar Generator. You can also power the Light-a-Life from a 12V car port using the adapter. Ready for Outdoor Use: Unexpected rainstorms probably won't harm the light. The Light-A-Life has been engineered to withstand the elements, including rain and snow. Although it's tough enough to withstand a storm, the Light-a-Life should not be submerged in water and all ports/plugs should be dry before turning on or chaining.

Chaining
You can chain up to 8 Light-a-Lifes together. Ensure each light is turned on prior to hanging. This allows you to turn the entire string on/off by controlling the first light in the series. If you own the previous Light-a-Life, they are chainable to this new version. Warning: While in use, the metal neck of the Light-a-Life will become hot to the touch. It is still safe to wrap the cable around the metal neck while in use.

Area Light
For broad, bright light, use the Light-a-Life in its area light mode. This is a great mode for outdoor use and how the Light-a-Life is shipped in packaging.

Lantern Light
For soft, ambient light, use the Light-a-Life in its lantern mode. This is a great mode for indoor use.

What's in the box:

  • Goal Zero Light-A-Life 350-Lumen LED Light
