Good construction. Too bad it wont fit the rode pro, the deadcat is way too long for the mic

Note that I got a pair of these H&A windscreens at a discounted price ($8/ea.), so my review is based on value for the price I personally paid. I bought them for my MXL FR-304 shotgun mics, which measure out at 14.7" (37cm) and they fit over the foam windscreens perfectly. And this feels like exactly what they were made for...supplemental protection. There is no substantial thickness to the material so it will not provide much wind protection on its own. But there was a noticeable difference when wrapped around a foam windscreen. Sure, there are better options, and you won't get the same results as using a proper blimp and dead wombat, but if you are on a really tight budget and can get these on sale, I would recommend it as a 'better than nothing' alternative.

The dead cat eliminate smile wind noise but under extreme heavy winds you still get interference. It's great for the price but won't eliminate every wind noise situation. Also upon removing the dead cat it will leave a few hairs on your foam cover, minor annoyance though.

The H&A Shotgun Microphone Deadcat Windscreen keeps your recording clean and free of unwanted wind noise through deflecting the sound through artificial fur-like hair. The elasticized drawstring lock encircles the cuff fora tight fit, sealing the stray breezes away from the long shotgun design microphone capture capsule while remaining acoustical invisible. No creatures were used to make this Deadcat.
