Hoya does it again! We got another quality product from this fine company. We purchased the ND filter to cut down on the bright sunshine of the day and to also take pictures of waterfalls. We've noticed a big difference in our pictures since having this filter and glad we have it in our camera bag. Thanks Adorama for having this at such a great price!

I took the filter with me on a Spring Break camping trip hoping there would be a waterfall or two so I could try it out. On one day, it was extremely bright sun so causing harsh glares off of the wet rocks surrounding the waterfall so I paired the 16X filter with my polarizer to cut the glare. It worked perfectly. You need a sturdy tripod and cable release as you need to compose your shot and focus without the filters then add them when ready to shoot. Here is an example of one.

this filter is very well made, no noticeable color shift that i can detect and maintains even light distribution from corner to corner.

Great choice for gaining exposure time in bright conditions. Minimal warming effect is even throughout and easily manipulated as desired in post processing. Easy on Easy Off.

This filter is a must for photographers into Long Exposure photography. Also for people that like/need very shallow depth-of-field. Very good quality! No chromatic aberration, no color shift.

Nicely built filter. Great for daylight time exposures and for shooting in snow. Actually it comes out to about 8.5 stops, not 9, but that is not a big deal. I would buy this again.

this filter is very well made, no noticeable color shift that i can detect and maintains even light distribution from corner to corner.
Photographing solar eclipses and ultra-bright light sources can be extremely dangerous. This filter reduces light values by 9 stops to less than 1/500th of its original intensity and allows safe photography.
It can also be used to achieve super slow shutter speeds in daylight to render moving subjects invisible, and will enable you to use slow shutter speeds, especially with high speed films, to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, vehicles, etc.
It will also decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, which helps separate subjects from their background. And this filter allows you to decrease the effective ISO of high speed film (above ISO 400) so it can be used outdoors in bright situations.
Neutral Density filters have no effect on color balance, appear grey and reduce the amount of light reaching the film. Multi-coating minimizes reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare as well as ghosting.
