Dark picture Indoor-Night, Great outdoor

Most my use is indoor and night time, I have to use the flash and increase the exposure to the max, to get some ok pictures... Don't blame it on the lens, I have the best lens selection varying from 1.2 2.8 & 3.5 Aperature (all ef serious) Note the Automatic mode is realy bad when lights are low... Looking at the bright side, it makes u learn more about the manual modes!!! I would not recomend it to any one, and I am goig to sell mine.

i would buy this product again & again

i use the camera especially for my kids and family events and when we go on vacations. it starts up fast unlike some cameras it takes awhile to load up, and once you take a picture you can keep taking them you dont have to wait in between pictures for them to save to the card.

Good luck with Rebel XTi

I love this camera because it takes beautiful pictures fast. I love the quality of the pictures and the expressions that I can get are great because you can shoot the pictures so fast. My old digiatal camera I had to wait 30 seconds inbetween each photo and it was really annoying with small children. I love that it takes great pictures with a flash and beautiful pictures without too. I have so many good pictures I used to delete 9 out of 10 pictures now I delete 2 or 3 out of 10.The only thing that I don't like is that I really don't know how to use every feature on the camera. It is going to take me awhile to learn how to really maximize all that this camera can do. I also only have one lense. This camera isn't small so everyone always comments that I have a very fancy camera and I can't just throw it in my bag but I don't care because it really takes great photos fast and I waited a long time to get a single lense digital camera.

Bast value on a budget SLR

I am one of many photographers that have moved from Nikon to Canon, this move came after 23 years using Nikon gear. I recently bought the Canon Rebel XTi to have as our family holiday camera as I rather keep the pro gear safe at home. The first impression I got when holding this camera is the weight, perfect for travel, it’s a full featured camera with all the settings you would want if you want to go and get that difficult image, be it tricky lighting or fast action. This camera is very user friendly and has five modes of program which I never use; it also has fully automatic, aperture priority, shutter priority and manual. You can make full use of all Canon lenses thus making this little camera a good back up camera with its impressive 10 megapixle processor. I have used this camera with the Canon 500mm f/4 L IS USM lens and got excellent performance with the 1.6 crop factor. I will not compare this camera with the 5D or 1DS Mk 2 as these top cameras are way above its class, however when comparing it with the 30D, I found it far more user friendly however the 30D has much better and faster focusing.

Great SLR!

Great first digital SLR. Has some amazing features. I love the fact that I can so easily move from full automatic mode to manual control over every aspect of the shot. The bracketing is also a great feature to have in this price range!

"Well worth the purchase"

Camera is not heavy even with a lens attached, like many are. Has a nice hand grip and hold. Allows for multiple lenses.

Canon EOS XTi, a Winner!!

The Canon EOS XTi digital camera captured images where colors were spectacular and very eye-pleasing, plus resolution was outstanding! Its easy operation, light weight, quality zoom lens, and built-in flash worked flawlessly everytime.

A Great Camera!!

I am a casual user and upgraded from a recently purchased Canon XT (8MP) since I wanted the improved resolution of the new Canon XTi. However, as good as the Canon XT was, the Canon XTi is better! The extra 2MP is not the real reason to upgrade - the improvements are numerous, and significant. Much improved user interface, simpler operation, automatic sensor cleaning, just plain simpler to use with the same awesome Canon image quality. This is the finest DSLR you can buy for the money. Excellent value, excellent images, user interface that is simple, quality construction, adaptable to hundreds of lenses and accessories.

This camera struck a chord with me! I have been a casual enthusiast photographer ever since I was a child watching my father with his camera's and gadgets. This camera surprised me with it's ease of use and all of the phenomenal features it provides! I would recommend it to every spectrum of user, from the beginner to the professional!

Excellent even for a beginner

First lets start by saying that I prefer quality over value, and yet the XTi has both. It might be a bit more than other cameras who might have enticing features like Shake Reduction and such but I wanted excellent quality in my pictures and the XTi was in my opinion the best around the $800 range. I wanted a fast camera and most are capable, however the AF on this thing is quick and precise. Since you are marrying to the lenses, I'm happy to report that Canon lenses do not disappoint. Overall, after trying several other cameras from Nikon, Olympus, Pentax (also Sony and Samsung), I went with the XTi. One small gripe is that people with big hands will ultimately hate the XTi's compact design, HOWEVER, this can be fixed by adding the optional battery grip which makes it a full grip camera instead of having the pinkie hanging or under the camera body like I do.

I Love it it's everything as advertised

The Canon xti has met my expectations in every way. Out of the box experience was very good. I've already used it to document roof damage and household items for insurance purposes

Great Camera, I don't regret my purchase

The camera is pretty well thought out. Once i added the battery grip the camera felt just right size and weight wise. I like the different choices on the metering system as well as the servo. I will use this camera for along time and look forward to adding more lenses to my inventory.

Film is Dead. Digital is King

This is the first digital camera that doesn't make me miss my film rigs! I have used the 1Ds in the past, but I simply can't afford the big boy EOS system yet. But it truly amazed me how much 7000 dollar functionality Canon packed into this sub-1000 dollar monster!

Overall Good Choice

I bought XTi after much contemplating between the XT and XTi. I am very happy with the choice. The camera is easy to use out of the box, although my goal is to learn how to really use it. Being a woman, I have found that the camera fits good in my hands and do not see the need for an additional grip that some people have mentioned. I have found that I want to purchase an additional flash, as the camera's built-in one just doesn't seem to have enough power. Also, kit lens doesn't include a strap for the lens cover, so be sure to add one to the cart! Just returned from vacation and loved the pictures I got. Good all-round choice for an intermediate like me.

No external flash PC terminal

Bought it because everyone said it had flash connector and it did have new features and large sensor. Took me a few calls to figure out it wouldn't use a regular flash slave because it flashes several times even with the red eye flash turned off, to cal it's lens distance. Have gone back to my D20.

Super first digital SLR

By jim

This is a great addition to the canon lineup. The camera takes great photos just using the many presets. The xti also gives you all the control you need to get the image your looking to capture using the picture style menu to adjust everything from sharpness to contrast.

Canon's large-area CMOS sensor captures images with exceptional clarity and tonal range, and offers the most pixels in its class. This APS-C size sensor (22.2 x 14.8mm) has the same 3:2 ratio as film cameras, enabling an effective angle of view that is 1.6x the normal EF Lens focal length. With an effective pixel resolution of 3,904 x 2,598, the EOS Digital Rebel xTi offers superb detail and clarity, even in large prints, and generates finished files that open at approximately 30MB in your image-editing software.

On Canon's CMOS sensor, each pixel is captured with fine detail to create images of tremendous depth and resolution, ensuring enough information for even poster-sized prints. With the DIGIC II Image Processor on board, photographers can expect natural color reproduction, precise white balance in any number of lighting situations and unparalleled clarity.

The EOS Digital Rebel xTi has a brilliant 2.5-inch LCD monitor with approximately 230,000 pixels. All shooting and review information is accessed on the rear LCD monitor, and the wide viewing angle of 160° and brighter, easier-to-read menus give the new Rebel xTi LCD monitor an obvious advantage. When composing images, the Digital Rebel xTi's external display turns off automatically to prevent the LCD monitor's brightness from disturbing the photographer's eye. With a startup time of 0.2 seconds, the EOS Digital Rebel xTi is ready to go the instant it's brought to the eye. And the Digital Rebel xTi's shutter can record images as fast as 1/4000 seconds and as long as 30 sec., plus bulb at up to 3 fps for 27 consecutive shots. It synchronizes with Canon Speedlites at 1/200 seconds.

The EOS Digital Rebel xTi has a high-precision 9-point AF system for speedy and accurate focusing in any situation. photographers can recreate characteristics of their favorite films. Color, saturation, sharpness and contrast settings create noticeable variation in the saved image. In addition to six preset Picture Styles (Standard, Portrait, Landscape, Neutral, Faithful and Monochrome), users can create 3 additional settings for their particular photographic style.

Printing and uploading to a computer is incredibly simple with the Digital RebelxTi's Print/Share button. The EOS Digital Rebel xTi not only sports a newly-refined body with better ergonomics and an improved grip, but it also has some of Canon's most advanced improvements in dust reduction. The Digital Rebel xTi's integrated hardware and software solutions make trouble with dust a thing of the past.

The EOS Digital Rebel xTi features the acclaimed E-TTL II flash metering system. You can use it's flush-mounted integral flash or or any of the flashes in the Ex Speedlite line. The EOS Digital Rebel xTi is compatible with all Canon lenses in the EF lineup, ranging from ultra-wide angle to super telephoto lenses, & including Canon's EF-S series lenses manufactured specifically for Canon's APS-C sized digital sensor.
