Shopper : Is this Canon NB-7 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery for the Canon Powershot G-10 Digital Camera the EXACT SAME Lithium Ion Battery that is original equipment for the Canon Powershot -G-12 Digital Camera??JAMES L : As far as I know, the batteries are identical. They have the same canon model number. The same battery should work in both. On advertisements, I would make sure it doesn't say "Canon compatible" since it would not be a Canon brand. I tried such in another canon camera, and it didn't have needed battery sensors to detect battery levels. That's not to say for all different brand batteries,. But if it is a genuine Canon battery, it will work.LARRY W : Yes, most definitelyJEREMIAH M : It is the same between the G11 and the G12. I have both of those. I looked online at the owners manual (they are all downloadable from Canon) and it listed the NB-7L in the box contents so it should be the same for the G10 also. Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?ERIC J : Genuine Canon replacement. I tried some Power2000 versions from amazon. They are junk. Discharge much faster than Canon and all quick working in about a year. My original Canon that came with the G11 still works like new after 4-5 years. Need a spare. The price is higher for OEM, but cheaper in the longer run.RACHELLE C : I don't lwant to be without an extra batteryi when I'm camping. No substitute for OEM batteries

I bought some 3rd party batteries for my G11. Never again. One died at 4 months, the other wouldn't hold a charge at 6 months. My original G11 battery is still going after 6 YEARS. This is a spare.

I would buy this product again

I like using brand name products that fit applications perfectly. Other manufactured batteries work but not as well as the brand name. Just my point of view.

Costs more but well worth it!

While the Canon batteries cost more than "generics", they are well worth it. They charge quickly and last a long time. They are also easy to charge while traveling in other countries where the electricity is different than that in the US.
