Shopper : Is the Sandisk SSD new or refurbished?CHAUHAN K : Brand newSHIV N : Its new because the word "refurbished" doesn't appear anywhereEVERETT J : see earlier answerEVERETT J : I saw no label on the product to indicate it was refurbished. I installed it in an HP Povililion. Started life as an XP machine and upgraded to W-7 and further upgraded to W-10. If you are putting it into a desktop make sure you buy the mounting brackets.ROBIN M : My SSD was new.
Shopper : These is work for macbook pro. 13.3Early 2011?SHIV N : Try asking in a Mac forum. This drive is no different from any other SSD so if your MacBook pro 13.3 supports SSD (I don't see why not), it should be. But check on a Mac forum about adding an SSD to you MacBook or check with your local Apple store.DAN D : I bought mine with use in a mac in mind. I had problems with my MacPro and dug in to find out that Mac does something weird that makes the sandisk ssd 'iffy'. It turned out that my Pro problem was video, but I would not by an ssd for my mac unless the manufacturer specifically said it was mac and os __ compatible.JOHN S : A little tricky to get the osx on it. I used a usb drive with el cspitan installer which i download from the app store. After manually installing the ssd i used the usb drive to check ssd them in installed the osx. A faster way would be to have a external thinderbolt drive with the osx installer on it ready to instsll on the ssd. Otherwise it very faster and reliable No problrms and adorama has been greAt if you have a question. Good luck.ANATOLIY R : Yes it should work for most of Apple computers.TIERNAN C : This should. As far as I know it is the models around late 2012 that started switching to weird ZIF connectors or soldered storage. I recommend double checking on the 9to5mac forums though.

Fast and Faithful

This is a great SSD for capturing 4K 4:2:2 10bit video on the Ninja Inferno. I wished they had been available when I was starting out 20 years ago. But very grateful they are with us now. They are fast, lightweight and so far very dependable. And Adorama was equally fast with their delivery to me. Five stars for all!

Amazing and true

Really good to download the os and bios drivers on very fast seems as though my computer is already on without much wait time. Also is more true about the storage i think it was like 10 gb off but still better than most.

Beats having the OS on a spinning disk...

All of my production machines use an SSD as its system disk (but 7200rpm disks for data storage). The first machine I upgraded to an SSD only had a 120GB SSD, and occasionally ran very low on space. I also needed to upgrade one machine to Win10 for testing purposes. So I got a 480GB Ultra II, cloned the 120GB SSD to it (using acronis) and upgraded the new disk to Win10, giving me a instant backout to Win7 in case I came across any egregious problems. After a couple of weeks, so far, so good. Speed and cost/gigabyte was more than acceptable. All of my SSD's are SanDisks (since 2012) and have been very reliable with no failures. Hopefully, the Ultra II will be as reliable as the Extremes have been.

Excellent buy

My 2011 MacBook Pro was running slow. With the drop in prices for SSD's, this was the time to upgrade. For $129 I lost a few gigabytes over my regular drive, but the speed difference and performance improvement in the computer was well worth it. Very easy to install in my MacBook Pro. I'm helping a frie.nd install one in an iMac tonight. Hopefully we'll have another successful project

large, affordable, quiet

I use these for quiet, low-power storage of some of my data. These run circles around standard platter drives in some of my applications. I would prefer a full 1 GByte per drive, but I understand the drive uses some "hidden" blocks for relocation in case a block is going bad. This is standard for SSDs.With leaving 10% of the blocks unallocated (to allow sustained fast writes), this drive gives me about 800 GByte of storage.

Excellent upgrade for an older laptop

My 6 year old Toshiba laptop was on it's last legs, or so I thought. It took 5 minutes to boot and regularly lagged due to constant access to the hard disk drive. Defragging the laptop's HDD didn't help. I cloned the old HDD to this 960GB SSD and swapped drives. The laptop now boots in less than 1 minute and no longer lags. Faster, lighter, quieter and almost twice the capacity. Only regret is that I didn't upgrade sooner! Note that there are no cables included, so you'll need a USB to SATA cable to clone the old HDD.

SanDisk Ultra II.

I put this drive in my laptop to replace a standard drive. It is fast and quiet. The laptop boots much faster. I bought it for speed and it provides that. I would definitely recommend it.

Holding all my photos

It seems to be working fine. It is mounted as an external SSD, and presently holds a great deal of photos. Since it makes no noise, and generates no heat, there is not much to say about an SSD until if fails, and that has not happened.
