Great little scanner (except if you own a mac). HP appears to not provide drivers to mainstream operating systems equally. No reason I can see for not doing so. Also drivers are not available for download. So if you no longer have a CD/DVD drive, you may not want this one. Quite a shame, was a nifty and sturdy little machine for business folks and home alike (ok until it surprisingly could no longer work). Again, if you own or think you might own a Mac, I would NOT BUY this product. If you own a windows device I might look for something newer since drivers for that OS may also be in question for the not too distant future. Again, quite a shame!

The HP scanning software gives a bad scan. But that's OK because the PaperPort software is fine. So I started scanning with PaperPort. Then all of a sudden, after about a dozen scans, the scanning prompt stopped. Then the scan button on the hardware didn't work anymore. OK, I can live with going into the PaperPort software to hit the scan button. BUT NOW THE MACHINE STOPPED FEEDING! I've only scanned about 30-40 pages. The machine won't catch the paper (doesn't matter what size it is or how I insert it). Good concept, bad scanner. Now I have to package the machine up and send it back. And I have to uninstall all software. Isn't my time worth anything? Really aggravating. Not the positive HP experience I've had in the past.

Just opened the box today and tried to install it. Really difficult to install the drivers and to get it to work. Only one CD - no software for business cards as promised on the box. I tried copying various things that I need to copy on the move and ended up with dreadful results. vertical lines down copy so it obliterated the things I needed to see. Poor copy results unless you turn up the dpi and then it slows to a snalis pace. Not a good scanner, not a good product and bitterly disappointed with the results. Vey poor HP product which is disappointing as I have many HP products that are excellent. If you are thinking of buying one beware and look at some alterantives.

The scanner was shipped to arrive at my vacation address to be used for work during my vacation. It arrived on time. The set-up was easy and it has performed as expected without fail so far. It is very compact and light and easy portability. It is especially nice that it is powered vis USB.

I use this to keep track of medical bills and tax info. Easy to set up and use. Image quality in not like my HP Officejet Pro L7590 but it's great for document tracking.

Scanning is OK, image quality is OK, but I wouldn't recommend this to Macintosh users, because the HP Scan software is not Mac-friendly. It has very rigid requirements on placement of the scanned files (which it names automatically), doesn't allow scanner to produce anything except .tif files, and doesn't interact in a Mac-friendly way (have to click on buttons, rather than hit Enter, for example).

Ordered based upon prior reviews, first unit would randomly stutter on legal and letter sizes. Grew tired of re-starting the scans. Sent back, (return was relatively easy) but unfortunately the second unit did the same thing. Would not recommmend.

I just received this scanner and installed it on my desktop and laptop computer. I am truly amazed at the ease of use and simplicity of it! As a genealogist, I can think of hundreds of ways it's going to help me in my research, not to mention, it can save me money on copies that I make at the various libraries and genealogy libraries! The business card feature is awesome..... Love it!
