i previously owned this printer for my photobooth business, but it was stolen (along with some other equipment). it took some time to purchase another, but i'm very happy with the new printer. it's a workhorse like the last one & have no problems with it.

I did my research and it was no brainer. The reliability of the Mitsubishi CP-D70DW Pro-Performance it caught my eyes. I placed my order with Adorama, and it was delivered super fast. After installing the driver on my Mac, I inserted the media and did my first print with no issues.I had sent prints to my lab and compared the results with the Mitsubishi CP-D70W, so I new I had made the right choice. I’ve only tried 4x6's and wallets at this time ( I have a template to make 2 wallets out of a 4"x6” ) in glossy finish. Also I’ve tested the super fine mode, which slows down the print speed producing a somewhat luster result. This printer also will do 5x7’s using the proper media.Product overall is recommended: Easy to use, Jam free, lightweight, affordable media cost, fast speed printing 4x6'sMy dislike: The photo holder that catches the print, needs an overhaul design. The one that comes with it, is made out of a folded plastic.

We use this printer for our portable photo booth and for event photo printing. It is very easy to transport and can be lifted easily by anyone. It is very fast and prints quietly. When its in standby mode, it doesn't make a sound. It wakes up from standby in about 2 seconds. Loading it is very easy, but the paper can be a little difficult to mount onto the spools because the paper does not have an inner hard paper core. Cost per print for 4x6 is excellent! Do not install the CD driver it comes with, instead, install the one you download from the Mitsubishi site. If you know your going to need more than one of these printers at your event, you should really consider the double deck version instead. Print count information is found in the printer properties menu. There is no interface on the printer, but it has some kind of interface connection on the front, yet no known interface device is available at this time. This printer has replaced my Kodak 6850.

This is an amazing printer. I originally used a Mitsubishi 8000 series printer which is 10 years old, twice the size, and took 25 seconds to print a single 4x6. This equated to ~500 prints in about 5 hours. The new Mitsubishi CP-D70DW, is smaller and WAY faster. The printer does take about 2-3 seconds to buffer each print but after that it's about 8 seconds for a 4x6. I can get the same number of prints (~500) in roughly 1/3 of the time it took for the 8000 printer to print. When I first took this printer out of the box, I realized that this printer is way smaller than I realized. To protect the small printer during travel, I use a Pelican 1620, which is large enough to have a dedicated MacBook (for printing), 3 USB cables, 2 Power Strips, 2 25ft Power Extension Cords, 2 Memory Card Readers, and all accessories and manuals in one neat "to-go" box. Although expensive, it's worth its weight and will "repay" it's self in no time.Mitsubishi DOES provide on their website,-ICC Profiles-Mac OS X support (10.5 & 10.6; no word yet on 10.7)THE CON:It is a bit noisier than ink jet printers. So I recommend that whoever is doing the printing, should do it in a separate room from the event. This is so you don't bother the crowd during speeches. Its really not that noisy, but in a quiet room it is noticeable. However, with the speed at which this machine "pumps" out, you wouldn't be printing all night long anyhow. If you have any questions, you can email me at kevin_hba[@], always looking to help out fellow photogs.
