Always get a Mack

I have bought Mack warranties since the 70's. I have only used them once and they actually sent the camera back to the manufacturer and paid for the repair, because they couldn't do it. So if anyone tells you this is not a real warranty...WRONG. Plus, if you decide to sell the camera, it increases your selling price at least as much as the warranty, becasuse it gives the buyer a very warm fuzzy feeling, knowing that if something goes wrong with a used camera they won't be stuck with a big bill. Money well spent. And believe me, I can squeeze a buck better than anyone you know.

Two Good Reasons for a great investment

This is my third Mack warranty that I didn't need to use the second one, and the first was used a few time for one troublesome film camera I had... Were talking buying the Mack Camera warranty since 1999.

It is better to have and not need, than

My printer is brand new so haven't needed extended warranty yet, but when I do, and those days surely come, I hope to be glad I bought it.

When things go wrong they usally go wrong badally, I have not seen a better choice for the badly part of the situation than this. It's just worth not having to go through the hassel!

An excellent choice

Like all insurance-like contracts all you can do is look at the cost and promises, unless you actually use it. Everything looks good on this one. I bought only a camera back. However, a word of caution, it says it does not cover interchanable lenses and even some things, like batteries, that are sold as part of the original camera.

My husband gave me a computer for my birthday/ I got to choose what Brand and what features it has/ I picked ASUS it was considered on the high quality end and I liked the size and it has 500 GB I use it for downloading books from library to listen to on my phone/ I use computer to look up things I'm interested in I keep in touch with friends and family  and a toy to play games ,watch TV.the onl thing I have a problem with is windows 8 it is a large learning curve / my daughter says I will love it when I get used to it.

Well, the warranty is a piece of paper so really the meat of the purchase is registering the product with Mack on their site. Thats a pretty easy process. I bought my warranty to cover a refurbished lens and I thought the price and the ease of registering it was all around a good thing. Now, if I should ever need to use the warranty - well thats another review isn't it?

It was free. Doubt I'll ever use it but who knows. I usually send all in to Canon for clean and checks. I am CPS so I am usually covered or cost is low. Time will tell if I ever use this free three year additional warranty. Doubt I would buy this on my own.

No idea if I'll ever need it

I like the product. But wish the camera warranty provided contracted local dealers who could repair the camera, instead of having to send it back east.

Really necessary to have for a camera like a Canon EOS 1DX.  This Mack warranty extends the Canon warranty 3 years -- for a total of 4 years.  This just covers defects/failures -- not loss or damage from misuse.  So, I am still self-insured in those areas.  I prefer Mack to other warranties offered by other online retailers.

Purchased with Nikon D4 as a package from Adorama.  Although I hope never to use, I cannot imagine a better value.

Extended Warranty

Got the Mack 3 Year Extended Warranty as part of Adorama's launch/promotion package for Canon 6D. The 3-year extended coverage brings about peace of mind and since I have not used their repair service as of this review, I can't tell how well the warranty process works and I hope I don't have to find out. You do have to register the Mack Warranty within 30 days of the purchase (invoice) date. The registration process is simple but you must be careful when you enter in your equipment's model and serial number. Mack's web site does not give you a chance to review and confirm the information you've entered. You simply go through a 4-step process when you enter the information and once you hit the submit button, you are done.  So make sure you check everything before you complete the process. You can go back to the previous step if you are unsure but you would loss all the information you've typed in during the current step.  Not a big deal but the warranty registration process could certainly benefit from some user interface improvements.

Register with care

This is my first experience with a MACK extended coverage. So far I've no reason to make use of it so I cannot offer guidance with regard to the experience. The coverage appears to be reasonable for the camera and lens. The coverage was easy to register on line and the documentation indicates it should be easy to use if required. A limitation is the need to ship the component to Mack for service, however that does not cause concern at this time.

First Time User

Purchased this warranty in case somethings happens outside of Canon's normal warranty.  I intend to use the camera a lot.
