Why doesn’t Nikon have the individual components available?

Too bad that Nikon doesn’t have the individual components for sale. I guess there are plenty of people that still use the wr-a10.

Nikon Delivers AGAIN! WR10 Radio Transmitter

I received this product and it is the best little photography accessory ever. It works as promised. It isn't cheap but it is effective and convenient.

Perfect match for a wildlife photographer

Exactly what I hoped it would be. Unobtrusive, easy to set up on my D850 and it works as advertised. Well worth the wait.

Nikon Remote Control

Works as expected. Remote control is small and if you’re careful it could be concealed in your hand if doing self portraits. No complaints so far. Just took almost a year to get due to back order status but glad it finally arrived. I’d check to make sure there’s not an upgraded model since it took so long to get after I ordered it.

Love it

LOVE IT! I use it with a D810. While waiting for this be back in stock, I had purchased another set up that connected through the hot shoe. Not ideal but it worked in the short term. This set up connected easily and worked perfectly right out of the box without the (problematic) use of the hot shoe. I’m absolutely tickled pink.

Limited capability with multiple bodies triggering SB-5000's

Don't get your hopes up if you are an event or wedding photographer looking to trigger SB-5000's with multiple bodies equipped with WR-R10's during an event. Only one camera will connect to the flashes at a time. Nikon, I don't understand why you would release a product that is more limited than the previous optical CLS system, and not anywhere on par with other wireless flash trigger options on the market. I had high hopes of staying in the Nikon ecosystem with wireless flash capability. How soon before Nikon integrates this capability into the WR-R10's?

I have two, and they also work with my Z7, D850, and D500. I'm surprised Nikon doesn't list Zseries compatibility?

With the Z-7 you just remove the receiver from the 10-pin adapter and it fits directly into the Z-7 or Z-6 bodies, The other bodies all use the 10-pin adapter. If you have an earlier WR-R10/WR-T10/WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter Set, it can be sent to Nikon to do a firmware software update. It took about 10 days. I carry one or two of the pouches with me all the time, and it is so handy to setup. Need to be in a group shot too and quickly take several images? It is almost as fast as switching the camera to Self Timer. The Transmitter batteries last at least a year. I also use them in place of cable release when tripod mounted.

Plug and Play

Just plug-in and start taking shots! Acts just like a wired remote release with decent range. No need for "in camera" menu activation. A little pricey but is a truly useful and reliable product.

I am happy with the product. It was easy to set up. I have been using it to trigger the shutter remotely. It worked perfectly the first time. I have not had the opportunity to use it as a flash transmitter.

Nice accessory

I didn't know this existed! I'm now using it with my D-700. The build quality is excellent. It works well for releasing the shutter wirelessly (line of sight). It's tiny and doesn't obstruct the camera and seems to be an integral part of the camera once installed, no different than say, a speed light. Slightly expensive, but packed with some impressive technology for it's size. It was easy to set up. I don't think I'll ever use the Fn button and not sure what it's useful for. My only concern is how fragile is this device is? Will it hold up to the rigors of day to to day use? Should it be uninstalled when placing the in camera in it's bag? I recommend this product and feel it adds both value and function to my camera.

Needs to be improved and made more durable.

I have owned 4 of these for use with my D810. and D7100 . the first one was defective from the factory and was replaced under warranty.the other 3 have broken. During my busy season, (April -Oct) I am clicking continuously several hours a day and need the remote for elevated images where the camera is often on a pole.I have found that you need to be extra careful with them because the durability is not typical Nikon quality - especially for the price. I found that my camera neck strap would catch on it when I left the WR-A10 and WR-T10 on the camera and I would not be firing remote but hand holding the camera. Unfortunately, I have not found a satisfactory 3rd party remote that works well either.

Wireless System For the D810

It's great but Nikon should have a one piece wireless unit like that used for the Nikon 7100 camera or better yet built in to the camera itself.

Flexibility in a small package

I purchased this because I needed to have the flexibility to move around and still trigger the camera, which was impossible with the other remote triggers that were available for the D800. You were either tied to the camera because of a cord, or had to be within line of site in front of the camera. This gives me the ability to move around an stay out of frame and still be able to take the shot. I have seen several reviews of this on several sites, and seen where people complained that this came with version one, or version two, but they need version three which needs the unit to be sent to Nikon. All I can say is that my unit came with version three firmware. My guess is that they received older versions because of the stock that was on hand from where they purchased from. Some outfits buy large quantities of stuff hoping that it sell quickly, but get stuck with a large stock of them even after two or three improved versions have come out.

Nikon Wireless Remote Control (WR-T10)

Easy to install on camera (other 3rd party remote that I used prior was very difficult to attach). Works reliably and is unobtrusive. Can leave on camera.

I'M ON MY 3RD WR-10

I love using my wireless and low ISO for my best pics. This unit works great- BUT- it is delicate. It MUST be removed when you are finished. I have snapped 2 already. The first time- I laid the camera on its side in the passenger seat and SNAP. THE SECOND- I was taking night pics in Boothbay Harbor the night before. The next day we went kayaking .I went to slip the camera into the bag and SNAP. I like the previous review, wish Nikon had an internal setup like the D 600 I previously had. That, or develop something more streamlined and to the least, more durable. I own the responsibility- but I was upset because without my remote- No Fireworks. Did I say I broke it on the 4th of July-ARRRGGGGHH I would give it a 5 STAR for ease of use- But NIKON- get busy on a more improved wireless. I have only had my D810 for 4 months. At this rate, I may be forced to sell a kidney- just kidding- only griping. I can hear my Father- Only a fool makes the same mistake twice- I just ordered my 3rd. I know my Dad loves me- END OF RANT

Works Flawlessly

This product was easy to install, works great. Finally, I can be in my own pictures without having to use the self-timer and run quickly to be in the picture. I can also setup the camera on a tripod, then use this remote to take pictures without camera shake. Also, contrary to some other reviewers who said it blocks the built-in flash button, this product rotates sideways without unscrewing it to give you full access to that flash button. An excellent product. So why only four stars? Because it's expensive, and you have to be careful not to bump it and damage the 10-pin connector on your camera. One final note: I wish Nikon had integrated the receiver into its D800/810 like it did with their cheaper cameras which only need a transmitter.

brilliant product, but over priced

purchased this item to assist with my of camera flash photography, using the CLS....the product works effortlessly and is very easy to attach/detach; Also the size is perfect for on the go shooting....the only reason why i did not give it 5 stars is because of the price....it is my opinion that although the quality is great, this set should not exceed $100.00 USD

Compact, high quality, does exactly what I bought it to do

Compact. Impressed with the quality of construction. I initially bought a non-Nikon product called the RFN-4s but the first unit stopped working after four days and the second also had quality problems. I returned the product and decided to go for the Nikon WR-10 set. What a difference! The WR-10 is much smaller than the RFN-4s, of higher quality construction quality and more secure (the Nikon has to be 'paired' whereas the RFN-4s has 16 channels). Luckily, where I live (Japan), the WR-10 set costs the equivalent of USD135

Works when properly connected

This item is great for taking self- and family-portraits as well as detailed macro shots that require no shake. Too bad Nikon didn't build in a receiver like my previous D7000, but I guess with the major league D810, you have to pay to play. The box ships with six items - the wireless remote receiver, which goes into the adapter that in turn inserts into the camera's 10 pin remote terminal, the transmitter, two small straps for the receiver and transmitter, and a small carrying case. The planet-sized instruction sheet - you could learn many languages by copying it into a translation program - is a bit annoying, but when you find your language, is clearly written (at least for English, German and French languages that I read). With regards to the English instructions, the instructions were accurate with one important item that should be included: when you connect the receiver (WR-R10) into the adapter (WR-A10), you need to hear a small click. If you don't, then it won't work; I found that out after spending 30 minutes with Nikon customer support. Other than that, the setup is easy: once the receiver/adapter is inserted into the 10-pin terminal, set the receiver and transmitter to the same channel, turn the camera on, and simultaneously press the little grey buttons to pair the items. When the green-red lights blink quickly, they are paired and ready to go. Testing the unit afterwards went well, and I was able to remotely shoot pictures from a distance of 10 meters (33 feet), which is more than I expect I'll ever use the item. Apparently this can be used to control multiple cameras; I can't vouch for that feature, as I only wish I had the wealth to be able to afford that luxury. However, I did use it outside to take some macro shots with a Nikon 200 mm f4, and the results were great. In summary, it's expensive in comparison to what I used before, but it really works and, at the end of the day, I can worry about taking the shot, not about the equipment.

Easy to use, does what it says it does.

I got my WR-x10 kit along with my brand new D800E about 2 weeks ago but hadn't had time to try it out. My old faithful ML-L3 doesn't work with the D800E but the x10 has several advantages over it: I don't have to stay "in sight" of the infrared, the x10 controls more than one camera and is flexible enough to control each group through a different channel. Also, for the D800E, it mimics the Fn button which was very helpful. The manual explains in very simple terms how to use the kit but it took me a while to figure out where to connect the WR-A10; I also found it cumbersome to have to screw it into the right place in the camera. A top notch camera like the D800/D800E should have a direct connection. Anyway, once I figured this out, the x10 set was very easy to pair and its operation does exactly what the manual says it does. My final opinion: too expensive to be so basic. But it's small, light and works fine so for field trips it's OK. Better than the ML-L3 that caught me standing in the pictures of some landscape shots...

Wireless remote camera control has never been easier. Instead of using conventional infrared transmission, the new WR-R10 and WR-T10 communicate via radio for increased range.

Because radio transmission is used, communication is possible even with no direct line of sight between devices for use up to 66 feet (up to 164ft when using WR-R10 as a transmitter). These wireless remote control accessories also enable various operations such as autofocus, video recording, continuous shooting and quiet shutter-release shooting.

Use the WR-T10 as a transmitter, to trigger a single or multiple cameras with the WR-R10 attached. This permits capture of the same moment from multiple perspectives and with different lenses as a still and/or video.

Compatible with the following products: DX-D-SLR: D3100, D3200, D5100, D5200, D90, D7000, D7100, D300 series (D300 series - requires WR-A10 Adapter) FX-D-SLR: D600, D700, D800 series, D3 series, D4 (D700/D800 series, D3 series and D4 require the WR-A10 Adapter)

WR-T10 and WR-R10(s) have to be set to the same channel and paired in advance to achieve simultaneous release.

Note: Depending on the camera, there may be a limitation to the accessories that can be attached simultaneously with the WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller. Attempting to forcibly attach accessories can damage the camera or accessory.

Communication between WR-R10 units: Only available when master camera employs ten-p in remote terminal
