I use it instead of the strap that comes with the camera because it has the ability to be adjusted, which means I can have my camera more securely attached to my wrist & do not feel in danger of dropping it. I am currently using it on a Canon Powershot G7X, which comes with a strap essentially like the strap that comes with the 300HS, so looks like it would work fine.YVONNE M H : Yes. I bought mine for my ELPH 310HS which is virtually the same camera. It's nicely made and I like the security of an adjustable wrist strap which eliminates the worry of dropping the darn thing.
Shopper : how does this attach to the camera ?DIEGO B : Your camera should have a small metal loop through which you pass the smaller tip of the strap (the short and thin laces) then pass the rest of the strap between the laces of the tip that was passed through the metal loop and then pull it. Same as the factory strap of many cameras, regards.David R : It is attached to the camera by pulling the entire small loop through an eyelet on the camera, and then pulling the entire large loop through the center of the small loop, and then pulling it tight.BRUCE C : I did not have any problem attaching this strap. I have had two of these, one for a Canon and one for my current Nikon. Just find the eyelet on the top corner of the camera and put the small end through it. Pull it as far as it will go, and then push the larger part of the strap through the tiny loop that you have pushed through. It works great and I will get this for all my cameras. It's meant to be a wrist strap, and those are worthless unless you have the adjustable part, which this Olympus strap has.ROGER S : You thread the small loop through the attachment point then loop the rest of the strap through the small loop and cinch it tight.

Soft, secure and flexible
This is a nice strap. The material for the wrist strap portion is softer than I expected; it feels very nice on the skin. The main feature of this strap is that it is adjustable, and that feature works really well.

Instead of a neck strap
I got a point and shoot which came with a neck strap. I found it in the picture whenever I shot down. The camera isn't heavy, which is why I bought it. My pro DSLR with it's long zoom lens must weigh 2 or 3 lb. The point and shoot is lightweight enough that all I really need is a wrist strap. So, off with the neck strap, on with the wrist strap. I like it much better.
