This thing is a must for us older Gentleman with reading glasses. Man did this make life with the camera easier. Recommend Very Highly. As a matter of fact now that I have I would not, could not will not be with out one.

This is Fantastic

I worked better then what came with my Pentax K-50 camera.
It makes what you're seeing much clearer and a tad bit bigger.

And if you ever need to adjust the diopter, this makes it easier as there is more room between this and the camera.

I do a lot of close up and macro work and this cup works wonders. Even better when coupled with the many older manual lens I use. I would recommend one for any Pentax user that wants to use their lenses to their fullest.

Magnificient Eye Piece

What I really miss are the split-prism focusing screens found in old SLRs from the film days, but this magnifying eye piece mades for a good alternative. My K-50 already has an excellent optical viewfinder—bright and large—but this eye piece makes manual focusing much better. I use autofocus most of the time (the K-50 is fast and accurate), but there's no way denying the usefulness of manual focus, especially for macro photos. The only potential issue is it causes some vignetting at the corners of the viewfinder but it's not enough to bother me.

Useful magnification

Since I have gotten older and my eyesight, naturally, has weakened. This magnifier works great for me. I have a K-10, a K-5 and now a K-5 II and they all have one mounted.

Easy to install. Exactly as described. No brainer for me I have one for my Pentax Kx and now on my K5IIs.

If you need it, you should get it.

Really helps block light from viewfinder and manual focus detail is greatly enhanced.

Eye Comfort

My vision is just bad enough that I have to wear glasses to see well.  Without this eyepiece it was impossible to keep my glasses on and see the vf info.  This alleviates the problem.  Info is much easier to see, I don't have to move my eye around in the vf nearly as much.  It is also a great improvement for manual focusing making it much easier to use my 50mm KA lens.  This should make my protraiture easier.  A side benefit is my nose is no longer pushed up against the LCD.  Yes there is some vignetting in the corners but are the corners really THAT important??  Glad I bought this.

I like to customize my Pentax K5, which I love to shoot with. The little things count, like a custom comfortable strap. I saw this eye cup on line and it sounded good for not too much money. I do have some trouble seeing clearly through the viewfinder, and i thought this might help. And it does. 
The image is a little bigger, and looks a little clearer. My nose doesn't rub against the LCD, either. 
I did a comparison recently; with and without the magnifying eyepiece, and i decided the small increase was worth it. 
And Adorama had a much better price than the other guys.

A little bigger image

I use this magnifier eyecup with my Pentax K5 DSLR, and I leave it on the camera all the time. It enlarges the view by about 20%, but this makes the image in the viewfinder both more enjoyable to view and easier to manually focus, which I prefer much of the time. What's more, I wear eyeglasses, but I've found that with the enlarged view I get with this eyecup, I can dispense with my eyeglasses and adjust the diopter to my focusing eye and get very close to perfect vision. What a joy to not have to wear my reading glasses (standard practice with the normal eyecup). Even though the K5 DSLR has an autofocus adjust feature +10 to -10 that can be set and saved for each individual lens (absolutely necessary for accurate autofocusing), I still enjoy manual focusing many subjects, especially portrait and macro, and this eyecup greatly improves that. Some people have complained that it reduces the periferal view and blocks the viewfinder information, but I found, without my eyeglasses, it's a simple matter to very slightly adjust the position of my eye to see the information bar, so that's not an issue. Highly recommended piece of gear, and at very fair price, too.

Improves manual focusing

I wear glasses and focusing manual lenses was tough. The O-ME53 view finder made the difference and made my Pentax K5 a complete awesome camera.

I would buy this again... I am terribly nearsighted and this is incredibly helpful for focusing clearly. I am so glad I found it!

really improves the view on my sony a580 cannot push all the way down or it blocks the eyepiece sensor, but that is not a problem. really works good if you wear glasses !!!

great product

Just purchased my third of these to replace one I sold to a friend along with a K100d. The 1.19x magnification provides a subtle yet welcome enlargement of the viewfinder, helping with manual focus and macro work. I leave mine on full time as it has a comfortable soft rubber covering and gives the added benefit of providing more room between my face and the LCD screen.

The only negative is that you have to get right up to the eyecup to view all four corners of the image and the info at the bottom simultaneously. I  don't take issue with it, but I do not wear glasses either.

cuts off the edges of the viewfinder. Doesn't magnify as much as you would think. would not reccomend.

Well...
It looks nice on the camera.
The soft rubber cup is nice.
It is easier to adjust the diopter.
Makes it a tad harder to read the data bar.
Calling this a magnifier is a stretch. I can see no benefit as far as focusing goes and that's what I wanted it for.

Not worth the price...

After reading the reviews, I bought this for my OLY E510, knowing I would have to modify it. It was more than I thought to make it fit, but I like it much better than the Hard Rubber one OLY puts out!!!

Works On OLYMPUS (with a little work)!!!

For anyone that wears glasses and the diopter is at it's max then this magnifying eyepiece is the answer. With it I can actually see the digital readout at the bottom of the eyepiece.
This will remain on my K200D permanently.
