For a point and shoot camera, it takes very clear and balanced photos for the most part. I have noticed that the lens mechanism does not function properly at times; especially when the SD card used is large and contains a lot of files. Other than that, it is good for what it is; a cheap, light camera with a decent zoom.
Ed S : I'm Curious: Where was the WB850F made ? EdRANDALL S : ChinaWILLIAM M : Ed, I don't have the box in front of me, but since Samsung is Korean I would think South Korea. Sorry I don't have a better answer. ANDREW R : I believe that this camera is made in China.
Shopper : it seems that wb850f is a perfect dc, but why there is no function of auto-rotation when picture is replayed?ANDREW R : Image rotation for this camera is handled manually. The camera may not include a sensor to detect camera orientation.

Great Dealer + Great Product = Happy Me

My existing camera died on Sunday, November 18th. Needing a replacement for our family get-together on Thanksgiving, I ordered this one Monday the 19th, with the 2-day shipping option. Camera was delivered to my home early Wednesday afternoon, in plenty of time to familiarize myself with it so I could put it to use Thursday. Can't say enough good words about Adorama's customer service. They were able to get it shipped the same day I ordered it, and responded to my email inquiry promptly and courteously (Kudos to Sean and Vince). Won't even consider looking around next time I need something. These guys won me over with one sale. I've only had the camera a few days, so I'm not qualified to comment on overall picture quality throughout a range of conditions, but the photos I've taken so far look great. I can comment on the wi-fi, network, and GPS features of this camera. The wi-fi was a breeze to set up with my home network. Not outright plug-n-play, but as close as you can get to it. The camera found my wireless network right away. I entered the network password on the camera, and it connected in about 4 seconds. Once I had a connection to my PC, I tried the wireless Auto Backup feature. Works just fine. I set up the Remote Viewer on my Android phone (HTC EVO 4G) via the app available on Google Play. Again, the camera connected to my phone almost instantly. I snapped a few shots to try it, and it seems to work just as advertised. I also tried the Facebook upload feature. After entering my FB login credentials (entering text on the camera is done through the "scroll and click" method..kind of a pain, but since it's not a touch screen model, that's how it's done) I was able to upload photos right from the camera to FB. Comments to the photos can be added via the scroll and click routine. Again, works as advertised. The GPS found my location on initial start-up in about 4 minutes. Subsequent power-ups take 15-30 seconds to aquire location. It was able to find my location from within my house most of the time. Outside, it works all the time. All around, a very nice point and shoot for a casual clicker like me.

The Samsung WB850F SMART Long Zoom Digital Camera (Black) is designed with more than image capture in mind. The WB850F is a WiFi enabled "travel zoom" camera that gives you the ability to send photos straight from the device. Users can email photos or share them on social networks from any WiFi hotspot. The WB850F also boasts free storage space on Samsung's AllShare Play and Microsoft Sky Drive, making user's photos accessible anywhere. Additionally, the camera uses GPS features and Live Landmark for downloading maps and finding information about local points of interest. The camera's Digital Compass also gives users their location and tells them how far they are from other locations.
