JEANINE C : I have the Kata 123-GO 20; is this bag bigger? I have a D700 with a battery grip and a 70-200. I have other lenses but that would be my best scenario. Right now I can carry the 70-200 unattached but there is little space for anything else other than a 50mm.SHELDON L : Don't know, but the bag fits a D800 with 24x70, 70-200, flash, 10-24, and gadgets and iPad. Very roomy and comfortable even with all the heavy equipment.CRISTIAN C : I was not please by Kata backpacks in general (design and manufacturing). I would not recommend this one either.
dwayne c : will this bag hold a sony alpha 100 Dslr with a Tameron 75-300 zoom plus a 55mm sony lens, plus memory cards and charger. Also want to know what outside diameter is, wanting to fly with this bag if possible?CRISTIAN C : I do not know the size of your camera and lens (I use Nikon). However, my guess is that your equipment will fit in there.RYSZARD K : I do not have sony cameras, so I may only tell what this bag can hold from my gear.
I have inside Pentax K-3 with battery grip, with attached Sigma 24-70 HSM (big lens) plus Pentax 55-300 (I have attached this lens to camera and it fits also - longer lens), Rokinon fisheye lens and Pentax 34mm lens, battery charger with cables, cleaning kit, Metz 58 AF-2, with flash bracket. There is still room for one more flash or lens like Sigma 70-200 2.8 HSM.DARLENE B : I can't give you the outside measurement because I'm on the road at the moment but; Katana makes some awesome bags and this is one of them. The bag smaller than this would actually hold what you're talking about as well. In my bag, the one you're asking about, I have a DSLR camera, cards, battery packs, 3 seperate lenses, a good size external flash, cleaning gear and a gorilla short tripod and a various other items. So yes, this is an awesome case and looks like it would fit well for airline requirements. Hope this helps. It's an awesome bag!WILLIAM S : I took a trip to Honduras in January and flew on a large and small Jet. No problem with fitting in over heads. I carried a Nikon D800 w a 24-120 f4.0 lens. A Tokina 11-16 2.8 Lens and old Nikon 70-210 lens. Also had the Nikon charger. The D800 is a big camera. The D800 w24-120 lens attached was a little big and was a little tight fit. The 3N1-22DL is a really great construction. Good BP. Size is roughly 18x11x11. I was going for a month and had shipped my real luggage earlier. I had the Kata stuffed full of camera stuff (filters, extra battery, electronic remote, etc.) and personal stuff (tablet, phone, rain coat, etc.). The rain cover is great. Biggest draw back I saw as I waned to carry some papers, 8 1/2 x 11, in the computer compartment. the compartment was a little narrow for that. If you are carrying a lot of stuff may want the 3N1-33 DL. Would I buy a Kata again or recommend it to some one, yes I would.
