This is my first time using a steadicam so my opinion of it is not based on comparing it to any other products. That being said the price and features of this lowered the barrier enough for me to actually start using this as a tool for my videos. This device was relatively easy to set up. There's no getting around the fact that you need to fiddle with it a while to get the proper balance. I have no idea if this is a problem unique to this design, but it didn't seem excessive to me. The good news is it was obvious how to tweak various components to get optimal balance. I didn't need to read a manual or anything, I just figured it out. After I got it working, it was awesome! It added the kind of movement to my videos I was looking for! Just walking down a forest path looks really cool and adds a lot of drama. I'll be using this for a while and hope to check back in a year-ish to see if I want more out of a device like this or if it's adequate.

It's exactly how it's supposed to be - a manual glidecam. I haven't used it extensively but it feels well-machined and durable as long as you don't do anything dumb. It takes practice to balance, and skill to operate, especially if you're using a manual focus lens. But worth it to get your shot.
