This 16-channel, 5-group wireless speedlight transmitter from Yongnuo lives up to the brand's reputation for making accessible and high-quality camera gear. With a straightforward interface, push-button operation, and a whole pile of helpful features for a photographer with varying needs, the E3-RT is a great addition to anyone's gear bag.  The wireless range on this transmitter is rated to over 100 meters, or 328 feet. Some features include AF beam focus-assist, a modeling strobe, flash exposure lock, and up to 9 custom functions you can set to your preferences. It's also capable of E-TTLII and E-TTL auto flash, manual flash, strobe, and multiple metering modes as well as advanced flash control (in one-third and half stops) via the push-button interface. A large LCD display lets you keep an eye on all your settings and control groups, and confirmation LED indicators let you know when you're correctly paired with external flashes or additional cameras for shutter triggering. The unit runs on AA or LR6 alkaline batteries for up to 10 hours at a time, and a power-saving function puts it to sleep after 5 minutes idle to conserve battery life.

This works perfect with my Yongnuo flash. Menus are easy to figure out and set.No problems with connectivity so far. I am finally able to use high speed sync with my sped light and love it!

I have had two of these for over a year now. At weddings I keep a flash on both my cameras and use off camera Canon RT 600 flashes, but for engagements where I don't need to be ready for anything, these are perfect. Upgraded the firmware this week and they fire my Orlit RT 400 as well. Score! Build quality not as good as genuine canon but they have lasted well and are so cheap.

Great Trigger

Extremely happy with this Yongnuo wireless speed light transmitter. Works great with Canon speed light 430 EX III RT and Canon T7i. Only setup required to set channel and id for the transmitter and the speed light. The speed light can then be controlled using canon camera external flash light control menu options. Highly recommended

I read a lot of good things about this transmitter. So I gave it a shoot and purcashed it. It came here to California within 3 days, which really mad me happy. Ok so I was a little skeptical at first since I have a new Canon 600 EX Speedlite. Ok I got the transmitter in the mail. I through a couple AA batteries in. I connected it to my computer to updayedthe firm ware. Then it was time to test it. I was amazed at how easy it was to sync with my Speedlite.  The ETTL function works great, manual mode is right on, and my fave is using the strobe light settings. All programmed from the transmitter. This is a great investment for me.

I bought this as an inexpensive alternative to trigger my Canon 430EXIII-RT off camera.  I bought it based on the description that it is compatible with my Canon speedlite. 
Imagine my disappointment when the 2 units would not link up fresh out of the box. I tried different channels, groups, auto etc and none of that worked. I was ready to return the product as defective when I searched some user forum and another user had the same problem. He fixed it by updating the firmware to v1.25.  I checked mine and it was v1.24. 
Updating my firmware solved the problem. I just wished that it was more explicit, so I didn’t have to spend the hour wondering if my product was defective or not.

This is a great product because you can link it with canon flashes. Linking the flashes were simple to do as well.

This works wonderfully with my canon 5d mark iii and 430ex rt speedlite. I haven’t used it much so I didn’t give it a full 5 stars, yet!

Works for what I need

Highly recommend.....

I am using this to fire Canon Speed lights in studio lighting arrangements. The device functions through the camera menu in the as if a Canon speed light were mounted. The remote devices operated correctly.

Compatible With Canon Speed lights

Replaced the 430EX III-RT I was using as a trigger for my 600EX II-RTs. Now I have an additional flash, it works great with the 430EX III-RT too. 

The IR focus assist is a bonus feature over the Canon ST-E3-RT.I did not have problems with the beams only covering the top half of the frame as some have mentioned.  

My YN-E3-RT worked great out of the box without needing any firmware upgrades. Also, the unit can be controlled almost entirely through the touchscreen of both my 6D2 and 80D. Only second curtain sync cannot be enable through the camera. I suppose this is because the Canon ST-E3-RT does not have that feature.

I've got both the Yongnuo transmitter and the Canon transmitter! Both work VERY WELL with my Canon 600EX RT. The Yongnuo transmitter is as easy to use as the Canon, the technical support is very good ,too! I had checked on firmware updates and they helped me out! Excellent transmitter, wonderful price!

Exactly as advertised. Two weeks in and no problems what so ever.  Simple to set up and haven't had a single misfire yet. Ordered at 2PM on Thursday, delivered 10AM  Friday, and I live in Alaska !  With the money I saved not ordering OEM Canon 600's I purchased a round trip ticket to Hawaii. Not kidding.
