Questions & Answers

ELIZABETH W : Are the binder rings D-shape or O-shape and what size/diameter are they?
Shopper : can this box accommodate oversized negative sleeves? I.e. the kind that otherwise require an oversized binder?Richard J : The word 'oversize' should be your 1st clue, NO, it does not accommodate oversize sleeves. Check the box spec's tab to discover its size.
Joselito C : How many 35mm negative sleeves can fit inside the box?LAURA H : I don't know how many exactly you can fit, however I currently have 30 sleeves, most of which are empty, and there is plenty of room on top left, I've stored some of the black and white prints I made from the negatives in the remaining space.Sara T : I have two boxes. In one I have 20 and there is room for a few more sleeves. In the other I have 100 sleeves. The one with 20 sleeves holds slides, which are much thicker than 35mm negatives. The one with 100 sleeves holds strips of negatives. They are thinner, of course, hence the huge difference in the two numbers.SARA D : A lot. I probably have between 75 and 100 in mine.Mike B : I put 100 in each of mine, you could probably get a few more in if you wanted to.

Beselar Archival Binder

I like the idea of the product but feel the hinge could be better and the closing clasps could be of a different type. I see with wear and age these two spots will be the first to go.

I love these clam shell binders!

I have been using these for ever! I own multiples, they all have held up great! They do not leave my darkroom but I think that if you are a student looking to get one of these that it would hold up to the abuse of taking it in and out of lockers, back packs, etc. My only gripe is that it does not have a handle! I bought one about ten years ago that had one and it is the only archival binder that I like more than this one. I use the Print File sleeves, I have not counted how many can fit, I know it is a lot. I finally decided to divide mine by negative size and then again by color or B&W so that it would be easier to find things when I go hunting. These work great for keeping dust out and staying organized.

These negative-file boxes are a darkroom essential

Negative files with 3-rings for archiving negative sleeves are essential for those of us with high production over time - these boxes take plastic sleeves for all of my film formats - 35mm, 120 roll, 4x5, 5x7, 4x10 & 8x10. Provide the only viable alternative to both chaos & damage to my negatives.

A great way to store your negatives.

Purchased this to store my PrintFile negative sleeves. Works beautifully for the purpose. It's built well, fully encloses the negatives to keep crud out, and you can carry it spine side up in the rain if need be to transport them without fear of water getting in.Solid purchase and I will buy more as I continue to shoot more rolls of film.

Works as advertised

There is nothing surprising about a plastic box binder to hold your plastic sleeves. It works fine if your goal is to organize, preserve and protect your 35mm negatives.

They Do the Job Well!!

Good quality storage binders purchased to store and manage my extensive negative and slide collection as replacements for standard ring binders. Quality and fit are very good. Having D-shaped rings rather than the standard round rings would be a suggested improvement to store more pages, otherwise thoroughly recommended.

Does the job

I purchased this binder to hold my negatives for my photo class. It feels a little cheap but it's study and keeps the negatives safe. The snaps are a little hard to snap but that's a pretty minor issue... My only complaint would be the size of the rings inside; they're pretty small and I feel like they wouldn't hold that many negatives before filling up. Also, there is no tab to open the rings like there is on most normal binders nowadays. Overall decent purchase.
