I began buying FobaBall heads about 20-25 years ago. First was the larger Superball, of which i still own two and have one mini. As camera weight, format and size as come down i am using the mini most of all for a sony A7r2 body with a Novaflex adapter to Leica 35-135 primes. The Foba ballhead is predictable and intuitive and something i don't have to think about. One might think why keep the larger one's and why two of them? As a professional if you ever have a failure the only thing you want to do is go to the car or closet and grab another one. The other reason you may enjoy the large head on a small camera is the quickplate is small enough that you have lots of room to back in and out of any composition, for reasons like.. I need more DOF and don't want to change anything other than to backup. Done. Great, strong, reliable, serviceable and I have never regretted the purchase atop a couple of Gitzo leg sets or rigged on Matthew grip equipment. Gitzo makes a great head for architectural application where you adjust the tilt tip and horizon. The ballhead is by far the most create tool you can use for creative imaging. Either way, buy the base with the 360 calibrations and brake, that way all your moves are within easy intuitive reach.
