After using the Xplor 100 Pro R2 for a while, it seems slow to recharge between shots and really weak in HSS mode. I just compared it to my Godox TT600 in high speed sync, and the TT600 is brighter. I was shooting at 1/1000 shutter speed and 1/2 power. The specs for this flash look good on paper, but after using it for a while, I'm going back to my $75 TT600 for location shoots.

Excellent flash to have. very portable and imo much easier to carry around than a square flash( a coke can shape). Has more power too. It won't over power the sun but definitly packs a punch when needed.

good for indoors, okay for outdoors

Got one, and liked it so much that I got a second one. I've found it to be perfectly fine to use indoors and bounce off a ceiling. It might be more useful as an accent light outdoors in bright conditions. Youtuber MarkusPix has heavily reveiwed this light, and even uses it with various soft modifiers outdoors. You can use extreme light weight stands due to the small size and weight, or you could even creatively mount these somewhere using a magic arm and clamp

As a photographic hobbyist, I'm now learning the great benefits of strobe flash. It was easy to learn how to easily and instantly tell it what to do, using my XPro II S. I was also a shutterbug back in the film-only days. A huge advantage we have now, in the digital world, is that we can experiment boldly because we can see the results of a shot immediately, and make adjustments instantly, using radio, right from the camera itself, with no need to have it physically tethered to the camera. I've made some impressive photos, using this Explor 100 Pro TTL. We may completely eliminate the flat, unnatural 'point-and-shoot snapshot' look by simply holding the flash unit a little-ways from the camera. Also, modern batteries give me many hundreds of shots per charge. I find this large, round, well-diffused light source to not cast objectionably 'hard' shadows, if I'm within even eight feet (2.4 meters) from a subject.

This is a great little take-anywhere light. I now have an AD-100, AD-200, AD-300 and a Li-on X Pro R2 all from Adorama! I will buy more AD-100s as they are very flexible and light!

I have the XPLOR 400 Pro TTL's and wanted something a bit smaller and easier to travel with. The XPLOR 100 Pro's are perfect for that! They provided the right amount of lighting for the wedding reception I just shot. These are great!

Great light plenty of power ....loud pop on firing, much louder than Alienbees, or TT685 Godox units. A problem for me as I shoot cats. Recommended EXCEPT for shooting when you don't want a loud pop after every shot.

As a hobbyist photographer, I hesitated to buy this flash because I already have multiple on camera flashes as well as AD200 flash. However, I decided to try it out and I am not disappointed. It is compact, powerful and battery last and last. I took hundreds of pictures outdoors for friends and the power is way better than on camera flash (860x). It is permanently staying in my camera bag now since it is just as big as a soda can. The lcd is bright enough to see in direct sunlight via middle age man's eyes, unlike the lcd on AD200. Lastly, it works with all my decade old Godox flash triggers for Olympus & Canon.

This is a mighty might of a flash. Whether I'm shooting sports portraits outside or indoor formal portraits, it can handle it all. I love the portability and the easy to read and use screen on the back.

This strobe is the best light in a small, light, convenient setup. It puts out plently of light for its size and even surprises me how well it does on bigger jobs and lighting tasks. It is super easy to use and has worked flawlessly for an in studio 2nd / fill light, and for is a joy to use for outdoor, remote work because of its size and weight and ease of use.

Great first off-camera strobe. More powerful than a hotshoe flash, small, great battery life. Not great for large groups in dim areas, but for individuals or a few people it's awesome. Get the S2 bracket for Bowens mount with it.

Better for Weddings than the AD200s.
By Andrew H.
I'm a wedding photographer and I use 4 of these to light receptions. I was previously using 4 AD200s but they take up significantly more space in my bag (and weigh more). Additionally, AD200s can make a 12 foot high lightstand very top-heavy. After nearly having my light stands fall several times in 2021 I switched to these. They are SO lightweight and the Silicone "bumpers" provide amazing protection. Additionally, these AD100s have built in fans whereas the AD200s do not. You c...

Weight No More!
When we started the R2 Journey with the revolutionary XPLOR600 portable monolight, no one could have dreamt that we would have a Family this robust and widespread.
Are we proud.
And now, we are delighted to introduce the XPLOR100 Pro TTL R2 Battery-Powered Monolight. A tiny, wireless, 100 watt-second, rechargeable lithium-powered flash with a full array of features – even variable zoom flash coverage. Up to 360 full power pops and a 9 stop range to boot. An LED modeling bulb and color accuracy. A small package with colossal potential.
It's going places.
The sheer size, a tad larger than a beverage can, and a hair over 1 pound, begs to come along.
It's going to a wedding. Traveling to the portrait session. Serving up precise light for multi-flash table-top. Supplying a novice with a promising future, a system flash. Snuggled into a lens pocket going on an assignment overseas with a seasoned pro.
The XPLOR100 Pro gem fits unobtrusively in your case.
Not 'just in case.'
Ready for wireless TTL or Manual action along with the complete Family of Flash.
It's pure R2. There's nothing else to buy to enjoy seamless connectivity with R2 transmitters in speedlights or triggers for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Olympus, and Pentax. The front flash face is magnetized to accept light modifiers from filters to grids, snoots, and super-wide diffusers, which also fit the Flashpoint round head flashes. Did we mention that the rechargeable lithium battery packs are shared with the Flashpoint Zoom Li-on X and Zoom Li-on III Speedlights
There isn't a photographic challenge that an XPLOR can't lick and an imagemakers vision that can't be fulfilled.
No matter starter budget flash or sweet kicker accent light.
First love or seasoned team partner…
