I recently upgraded from the original TakeOff bag to the new 2.0. What a remarkable difference. The first one was my favorite bag of all time, but this new one is quite the update. I feel like I was flying economy and just got bumped to business class! The zippers are higher quality, the pockets are more plentiful, and handle is better. ThinkTank really paid attention to what worked and what didn't with the original bag and made every improvement that I had pondered in my 11 years with the old one. Customer for life over here, y'all! Noice!

I got this to replace my Pelican Air so it would be less conspicuous and hopefully I wouldn't be forced to gate check it nearly as much. THE PROS: The backpack/roller combo is fab and while it takes up less real estate than my Pelican Air, I'm able to fit a bit more in. THE CONS: If you want to ensure it's with you on flights (in cabin and not in the hold) and you're going anywhere that isn't a major hub, forget it. Any flight that's less than 2 hours, I've fought to not gate check it and have lost, despite describing the need to have it with me (the fragility of the equipment, the cost, the lithium batteries, etc.). In case it helps those considering purchasing who have upcoming trips, I've been forced to gate check it from Oslo to the Lofoten Islands, Heathrow to Inverness, Heathrow to Shannon, Denver to Moab, and several others. I've had issues with Delta, British Airways, KLM, Aer Lingus, and Wideroe (small regional in Norway) airlines. I am certain I've had more issues with this roller bag than I have with my Pelican just in the relatively short time I've had it (I purchased it in January). Unlike another reviewer, I have been forced multiple times to unpack and try to squeeze all of my lithium batteries and such into my personal item. This was after I said that I have so many rechargables that they might not fit in my personal item and the attendant said, "If they don't fit in your personal item, we'll have to send the entire thing on tomorrow's flight". Would I buy it again? Eh. Sadly, probably not.

I wanted something I could pull through the airport, as I did not want to check my gear. This bag works well. It fits in most overheads and is not heavy. I am 60, so hauling things around is not what I want to do. This makes things really easy. The conversion to a backpack is easy also. The only problem I have had is with the handle. It does not want to stay open at shorter heights.

I just got my Airport TakeOff? V2.0 Rolling Backpack. It fits my main camera and back-up, all my six lens, flash unit, laptop and a small range of support items. And there's still a bit of room remaining. PERFECT size and configuration, great value for price, easy to use, and comfortable to carry. I'd write more however I'm off with my new gift to myself to do a shoot. Bye now.

I was going on a trip to Italy and realized my backpack wasn't going to meet the international travel dimensions so I started looking at Think Tank which is my goto bag company. I really wanted 4 wheels but the one they have for that doesn't meet the requirements and I really liked the backpack capabilities of this bag. While I didn't end up using it as a backpack I had no issues getting on the flight with this bag and I LOVED being able to roll it unlike any of my other bags. I had to get creative to fit my gear with the **** in the middle of the storage that accomodates the handle when retracted but I worked that out. My bag was actually heavier than my airline allowed (my check in attendant made me weigh it) but I told him it was my media gear and was full of rechargeable batteries so he tagged it as cleared for boarding and off I went. I think I may just keep using this bag for the ease of use of the rollers now.

Just bought it today and used it this afternoon for the first time but I am sure we will be friends for the coming years . I can now take all my equipment to my birds excursions, also by plain. ??????

I have not used the bag much yet, not traveled on an airline, but it has been great for my local use. I was using a backpack that was much too heavy for walking distances, I am thankful for the rollers! It has ample room for two cameras and large lenses (70-200 & 120-300) with room to spare. I recommend this product, it seems to be well constructed and will last years.

Great bag, backpack and roller. Used on a trip just a week ago. Was able to pack all I needed and brought my sling bag. Great combo. Great and fast customer service.

I really the TakeOff. I can add 2 DSLR bodies and 3 lens plus miscellaneous gear. I do have 2 complaints about the Tripod fastener and the straps. These complaints are not particular to ThinkTank, but to numerous suppliers of gear. The 2 clamps that are attached to the side of the TakeOff for use of a tripod are extremely hard to open. I spent 30 minutes trying to get them open. There is no way that I am going to take them off before boarding a plane. The other compliant is the shoulder straps. Once you have the TakeOff on your back you have a difficult time pulling t5he straps to get them snug. It is clear to me that there was little time given to designing these straps. I strongly recommend that you look at the militaries backpacks and see how easy it is to tighten up the straps and loosen them. This is a simple thing to do to greatly improve an otherwise excellent product.

I've been using the first version of this for 10 years? hundreds of flights, hundreds of kilometers walked with it on my back, countless jobs in the dust, rain, muddy fields, gravel etc etc. This bag has been AMAZING. Stitching is still all in tact, clips etc all working perfectly, main zip has just given out after something got stuck in it. Damaged, not worn out. Simply the best bag I have had in nearly 30 years on the cameras.

So far, so good. seems to be perfect as I'm a RE photog, and shoot 3-6 homes per day. Last bag was a Manfrotto and lasted me 3 years. Let's see how this hold up.

I have the first edition of this roller bag, the Airport Takeoff, and can't recommend it enough. Slide out the laptop and it fits perfectly in the overhead bins when flying. Really well made and up to the problems of traveling. Well worth the expense.

Bought the Take Off v2 a couple months ago for my large glass. Handles great, like all TT bags, is made of top quality craftsmanship. Has replaced 2 different backpacks I was using for my 400, with 120-300mm. All fits- its insane, and its no huge. This thing is great.

Just received my bag today for an upcoming photo trip. I was able to fit 2 big lenses with lens hoods(100-400mm & 150-600mm), a 16-35mm lens with lens hood, 2 Canon camera bodies, flash, 2 chargers, remote shutter triggers, batteries, SD cards, filters, cables, etc, and it all fit! Amazing! My only concern now is if I will be able to lift it into the overhead compartment on the plane! LOL!

I'm in love with this bag. I swear, every time I buy a new camera bag I outgrow it the minute it arrives. Not this one! There are pockets everywhere! I love that I can keep all of my equipment in one place, and not look like I'm moving in to every wedding I shoot. Plus rolling my equipment rather than carrying it is saving my back.

This bag is perfect for what I need. Shoot a bunch of surfing and beach landscape/sunset and fits my 400mm 2.8, 70-200 2.8, and 24-70 2.8 plus a body with extra room to spare! At least another lens or body. Can't wait to get a bag for my lights.

I'm a retired structural engineer as well as an amateur photographer so I approached this purchase with high expectations. With retirement, my wife and I have several international trips planned with our final trip being Antarctica. I've been searching for a product that not only will contain all of my camera gear but will also allow me to efficiently and safely travel through airports. I want all of my gear with me when on destination and this product delivered exactly what I wanted. I tried two other bags before this one but they had design flaws that forced me to return them for a refund. This one is staying with me and will see the world very soon. Well done!

I'm very satisfied with this roller bag, it fits exactly my purpose. I have been using backpacks from other brands for a long time and this resulted in back problems. This bag provides me a back-pain free with its smooth rollers and also the harness as an option. Plus it fits all of my 3 cameras, with 24-70mm and 70-200 attached, and two of the cameras having battery grips. All my other lenses fit perfectly and i still have some slots available. Highly recommended roller bag.

I was hoping to place this under the seat and I can, but I just have to place the bag sideways as the case is just a little long. It will not fit in the overhead bins on small commuter jets. It is just to think. However, there is no problem on the larger jets. I would definitely recommend this bag.
