Questions & Answers

richard y : what model number is this one?BARBARA P : Sorry, I bought it a few years ago and do not remember the model number. The picture looks like my storage box and it does the job.RANDY J W : Logan Electric Slide File #215GREG S : The model number printed on the paper insert is 1500G.
Mimi N : why is this called an "electric" slide storage box?GEORGE Y : There is nothing "electric" about this box. I believe the company's name is "Logan Electric, Inc.".SHERRI C : The company that makes these is called "Logan Electric", so it is only part of the name... it is totally not electric in nature.... Hope this helps.EMILIO A : You would have to ask Logan about the "electric" part of the name. These are for 35mm slides. I have them to store 12,000 slides in a smaller space than in trays.KENNETH R : Logan Electric is just the brand name. There is nothing electric or electrical in the slide boxes. It is just their name. They were originally manufactured by the Logan Electric Company. That company was acquired by Smith-Victor in 2005. I have a number of these slide boxes and find them to be well made and very useful.GREG S : It is not an "electric" slide storage box, as it has no electrical function nor any electrical connections. It is manufactured by a company called Logan Electric. The individual posing the question has been confused by the ambiguous image caption.GLENN B : My guess is it's just an old school name of this product used to market it. It is most assuredly not an electronic product: no batteries required, nothing to plug in ;-)DAVID L : I think it is because of the name of the company that makes these slide trays is ==> Logan Electric. So they are Logan Electric - slide trays. There is nothing electric about the tray itself just the company that makes the trays.JANET L : I don't know why it's called an electric slide storage box. I works just like all the other slide storage boxes I have purchased.
Shopper : I bought one of the double or two tie high boxes in 1977. There was a sticker on the inside cover with someone else's name but indeed it was a Logan box. However the plastic insert was constructed to have an individual slot for each slide, not like the current one I just purchased. This one has a rather flimsy, thin plastic liner that groups slides. I do not use mine for slides, but rather, various types of threads I have collected. I would be most interested in finding another insert tray like mt original. Does anyone have any help?JOHN G : A year or two ago I was able to purchase a single level Logan slide storage box which had individual slots for one slide at a time. Subsequent orders were delivered with slots that accommodated multiple slides in each wider slot. I use the slide box for slide storage and I prefer the multiple slide slots since is is easer to load slides in these boxes.GREG S : I do not have a loose insert, but I do have a box that has an integral liner (it cannot be removed) like what you are describing. It is a single-tier box and is in excellent shape if you think you might want to buy it, or, better yet, trade it for a box with a plastic liner, as I do use these for slides. It is a Logan box and the number inside is 110-115. It appears to have slots for 150 slides. If any of this is of interest, contact me at six-three-zero-rwo-one-three-seven-five-eight-six. Good luck.

Compact & easy slide storage

These are great, the first one was purchased a few years ago. Worked well to organize slides very compactly and good labeling system. Bought two more to continue archiving.

Could be improved

I ordered 3 slide boxes. 2 were in good shape but one had a defective latch and would not open. It cost $14 to return for a replacement so that increased the cost considerably. I had to make my own tabs. Unfortunately I did not find a better product. It did not comfortably hold 750 slides. I found that 500 slides fit comfortably

Logan Electric Slide File

I have purchased several of these slide storage boxes and for the most part they do what they are supposed to do. They are made of metal with a vacuum molded insert to separate the slides. However, the latch on one of the boxes I bought broke (there is an internal spring that holds it either open or shut), which I found disappointing.

Best Choice For Slide Storage

I'm using this file to catalog and protect a collection of Kodak slides I inherited from my parents. These slides were originally stored in bulky aluminum slide magazines or carousel projector rings. As I remove them from their holders, I am digitally scanning them, then organizing them by date in my Logan file. I bought this model, with the styrene plastic insert, on the advice of another reviewer, and am pleased with it's function. It holds a lot of slides in a small space. My only negatives are that the metal could be sturdier, although that would probably increse the cost, and the latch could have been designed better, as it is directly underneath the carry handle. Two latches, one on either side of the handle, would be much better and more secure. All-in-all, it's a good product for archiving precious family slides.

I would buy this product again.

Looking for a solid method to store a large slide collection in well organized safety. This product meets my needs, although the plastic tray insert design could be improved.

It will do the job.

The steel case seems sturdy enough ane the lid fits well. It would be nice if it had two latches. It has only one latch which is buried behind the carry handle. The plastic insert which holds the slides is very thin materal, however it seems to do the job. It will hold 750 slides but with a very tight fit. I recommend 720 slides max.

Great Way To Organize Slide Collections

I think these trays are a bit expensive for just a box to hold slides, but they are the best way I've found to organize large collections of slides such as my own.

we have had our slides in this box (maybe different code) but for over 25 years and they are still in great shape. Looking for a few more boxes. We are so excited they make them still.
