Questions & Answers

carole b : what battery do i need to get for this??YAROSLAV I : Any 12 volt battery. 1. Chip (but heavy) option is a Lead–acid batterie. 5 lbs, 7 A•h (equal to 84 W•h). f.e. SKU: AZV1607 <a href="http://www.adorama.com/AZV1607.html" target="_blank">http://www.adorama.com/AZV1607.html</a> 2. Battery belt. About 11 lbs, 14.4 A•h (equal to 172 W•h). f.e. SKU: BOPRB154XLAT <a href="http://www.adorama.com/BOPRB154XLAT.html" target="_blank">http://www.adorama.com/BOPRB154XLAT.html</a> 3. Expensive option is a 14.4 volt Anton Bauer battery. 4. DIY option. Go to any RC shop and ask for LiPo 4S battery. 4S means it is 14.8 volts. There are lots of batteries with different capacity and they are really light. f.e. 6 A•h (88 W•h) is only 22 oz.JACK A : It takes standard AA batteries. Four of them. It is one bright light and is more for movies than for still life shots.CHRISTOFOROS I : You can use every battery 12v I use two of that (Turnigy_5000mAh_3S_30C_Lipo_Pack) It’s perfect
yvette k : what battery is used with this?YAROSLAV I : 1. Expensive way: Anton Bauer Lithium-Ion Battery. 14,4 Volts. 3-10 Ah capacity depending on model (Watt Hours = Voltage * Amp Hours). Pro: Really lightweight (1.7 lbs. / 770 g). Contra: It's expensive ($250-$400). Charger is even more expensive. 2. Cheap way: Lead-acid UPS batterie. 12 Volts. 7-12 Ah capacity. Get wire, Anton Bauer tap and connect it to battery. Pro: It's cheap ($10-$20). Contra: It's heavy (5 lbs / 2.3 kg). 3. DIY way: RC LiPo Batterie. Battery voltage could be 7.4, 11.1 and 14.8 Volts. For using 7,4V batteries you need to connect two of them consecutive. 11.1V could give a little underheating I think. 14.8V will work fine. You'll need special LiPo battery balanse charger. Pro: cheap ($30-$100), lightweight (1.3 lbs / 600 g). Contra: LiPo battery should not be over discharged so you'll need to get extra Lipo Battery Voltage Tester that will make alarm sound on critical discharge or LiPo Cut-Off Module that will prevent over discharging.ANDREW R : This camera is equipped with an Anton Bauer battery tap which provides a connection with Anton Bauer batter packs used on broadcast video cameras. Lowel does not provide a specific battery model number.
EDWARD K : how do you power the light? does it have a built in battery or do you need to plug it into an external battery?. If so what is the name of the external battery?carole b : yes but what one?ANDREW R : This unit uses 12/14 v : 55 or 100 watts depending on the battery. This light features an Anton Bauer power tap for connection to compatible battery packs.
