It fits well right out of the box for me and will serve the purpose of protecting my camera lens. I feel much more confident than I would with a soft cover.

This front lens cap provides valuable protection for the front lens element of my Nikon 600mm f/4 telephoto lens. This cap is unique and one-of-a-kind. It is very well made. If the cap does not fit perfectly on the lens, additional different size rubber "O" rings are provided to adjust the fit. I have these caps for all three of my super telephoto lenses.

I use this instead of the soft cover that came with the lens, allowing me to store the lens more easily in its original case. It fits reasonably but not perfectly; I always need to press it in place to fit snuggly.

The cap fits snugly, does not fall off, and provides great protection to the front glass. It is well made and looks like it will last forever.

Well made, well thought out, and well ... Something Nikon goofed-up on, to tell you the truth. A lens needs a lens cap, period. I am just glad someone smarter than me came up with it. It fits well, is easy to use, and just makes sense. I feel better about protecting my glass. That simple.

Well, I have no idea why Canon doesn't supply this with a lens costing nearly $7000, but they don't. It works fine. It's a hard thing that covers the glass at the end of your lens. That's all it's supposed to do! The only things I would change is I'd make the handle out of cloth so it fits in the Canon lens luggage easier, and I'd lower the price. It's just a circular piece of plastic!

Using it on the original EOS 300mm f2.8 IS. After some frustration with other options, I very happy with this "best solution." The original lens cap was cumbersome and took too long to fasten. I also tried a stretchy neoprene cap that was better, but still less useful than a standard lens cap on smaller lenses. This product works similarly to standard lens caps with pinch mount, so you can mount and unmount it with the lens hood in place. Very good quality, but for the high price I was a bit surprised that the edges aren't better finished, maybe should be rounded a bit.

This is a smart product - I like it - note however that the OEM - cloth cap no longer fits as well because of the "ring" handle on this product.

I have heard bad reviews on this product so I decided to add my positive review. Protecting the front end of a $10,000 lens is no easy matter and Nikon has not made it easy for third party developers to improve on the padded sleeve that comes with the lens. One challenge I have is protecting the front element while assembling the lens hood. Another is preventing flying debris from hitting the front element between shots on windy days. I have not, so far, in all my searching found a lens cap that meets these needs as well as the Don Zeck lens cap. It can be adjusted to fit with the right snugness. I am sure everyone has a personal preference. All my super telephoto lenses have one.

I expected this to be an additional protection to my lens for everyday use as well as for storage. However, to my surprise, it does not quite fit well (I mean perfectly as advertised) in my Nikon 600mm lens and often falls of the lens while removing the cover on the field. Further, it does not fit in the original lens trunk either along with the lens as claimed. So it is pretty much useless.

Great product, works perfect! only downside is that if this lens cap is used you can't place the lens in a vertical position our you should remove the handle from the lens cap but 10* better then the original lens cap

I leave my lens hood on the 200 f/2 all of the time and didn't want to mess with the 'lens sleeve' that is shipped with the lens. This lens cap works perfect. No time at all to put in place (and it stays in place) and quicker still to take off. Would buy again.

Good product, well priced for what it delivers.I use this to replace the bulky Nikon cover and especially while packing for a trip and on field is a huge bonus. I use this with a lanyard, so as not to loose this.Lightweight, packs easily, only con is slips off sometimes. [...]

Just purchased the Zeck Lens Cap for my Nikon 400mm 2.8 AFS II. It is a durable cap, but the finnish not too good. The inside radius was machine turned and left uncleaned of 10,000 very small slivers of plastic, if you were not looking at this , I guarantee they will end up in places you do not want. They become static charged very easily and adhere to everything. The press fit did not impress me much either. There are solid plastic studs that make contact to the inside of your lens. My lens has a very light rubber gasket around the inner edge and was being torn up from the press fit. I worked around by draping the lens cap with a lg. lens cloth then press fitting to the lens, I think that will suffice. They need to rework this otherwise nice cap slightly and modify the studs to be softer and work on the finish. C. Lawson

This is an elegantly simple solution to the cumbersome Canon "sock" type lens protector that comes with the 400MM lens. The Zeck cap is easy to take on and take off. Vast improvement. One caution: With the lens hood in place, it can be difficult to see if it is fully seated. I found out the hard way when I lost the first one! I purchased and had to buy another. Now I know.

Finally, a practical and effective lens cap to protect your front element from scratches, dust, rain, and other hazards. Many high end Canon@ and Nikon@ lenses come equipped with only a leather or canvas "sock" to cover the lens and lens hood. These "socks" are heavy, bulky, and difficult to install and remove. The o'Don Zeck Lens Cap" features a collapsible handle to facilitate mounting or removal of the cap while the hood is in the shooting position. You can use the cap while the hood is in the stored position. These caps are precision machined from rugged black l/2 nchpolypropylene to exacting tolerances. The cap is held in place by six "O" rings that create a perfect fit. Nothing touches your lens optics and the thick design will protect against damage to your front element. It is a must for safaris, inclement weather, or extreme conditions. Please visit our web site for more
