Questions & Answers

Shopper : Will this adapter work with the Nikon D5200?DANA T : The Nikon lens mount hasn't changed for decades. It will work. However you will not have any autofocus or exposure (Progran, Aperture, Shutter) mode functionality. It turns the camera strictly into operating in Manual mode.JOHN L : T mount adapter fit perfectly to attach my Nikon D-80 to my 8 inch celestron telescope. Since all modern Nikons use the same bayonet mount I don't see why it would not work with the D-5200 you mention. Happy star gazing!PETER M : shouldn't have a problem with it, I use it on my D90 and D3100EDUARDO V : I believe it will. EduardoDANIEL K : Yes..this adapter will allow you to hook up odd manual lenses like manual mirror reflex lenses, slide duplication scopes, telescopes or other "old school" glass. You will have to shoot on full manual modePHILIP O : It should. All this does is allow you to mount a non-Nikon lens to a Nikon camera. Of course, you lose all automated features. When you do this.LELAND C : I bought this adapter and use it on a D90, it works great. All Nikon bodies use the same lens mount so this will work on your D5200. Have fun.JONATHAN L : Yes, but only in "M" mode. Focus and aperture must be set manuallySTEVEN G : Yes. The adapter will work with the D5200. I use the adapter to mount my D80 to my Mead telescope. The T Mount just screws onto the lens or scope you want to use and then attaches to the Nikon DSLR camera body the same as any Nikon lens would. Keep in mind that the lens or scope you attach will be manual focus only. Hope that helps.
CLAIR H : Will this adapt my D-80 to my 1.25 in. eyepiece for my telescope?ROBERT H : I found that a 2x barlow in-between the camera and the telescope is sometimes needed to get the focal planes to match between the telescope and the camera. I use a celestron 9.25" with a D7100, D3100 and a D80 . You will also need an adaptor to fit to the camera to the 1.25 tubeJERRY W : yesDANIEL M : Yes it will however you will also need the adapter for the actual telescope that will mate to this piece. The following is what I use with my nexstar 4: <a href="http://www.adorama.com/CNTA1Q.html" target="_blank">http://www.adorama.com/CNTA1Q.html</a> I use this setup on my D300s and it works quite well.SHANNON C : I am really sorry that I do not know the answer to that.
Glenn W : I ama newbie to spotting scopes and an amateur photographer with a Nikon D3100. What equipment do I need to take long-range wildlife photos with this camera and a Celestron Regal 80 spotting scope? I only have the adapter that was sold with the scope.DANIEL K : This adapter will convert or attach a telescope , mirror reflex lens, slide dupe scope etc etc to a Nikon AI mount. I used this adapter to mount an old 35mm slide duplicator and a 500mm Catadioptric mirror reflex lens to my Nikon d100. The celestron regal would need threads of 42x.075mm to be able to fit this adapter

Great fit.

This is exactly as advertised, a sturdy T-ring to attach a Nikon camera to a T-adapter. I use it on a telescope and also tried it on an Astro Rubinar 10/1000 F/10 lens from Russia that has an M-42 thread, and it worked just fine.

Nilon T mount issues

photo does not show the shipped t mount, better quality t mounts have adjustment screws to center mount to lens - this one does not - photo is not the shipped mount.

It did not fit.

The product did not fit the camera. I ordered a T-mount for a Nikon. The treads were the T-mount and the T-ring gets screwed did not match. It looked like the tread on the T-ring was 1/16 and on the T-mount was 1/32. I'm not sure if I receive the correct T-ring or T-mount.

Searched mths, it works on SpacemasterII

The ring needed to be adjusted for leveling which was easy with miniature flat screw driver. Now I'm hoping the flock of vultures 10 to 20 at times is still hanging out at the same tree in the city.

Great Product

I was worried by some of the reviews that mention this being too tight on the camera and possible damaging the body. This fits perfectly and has a nice secure click but comes right off too. It's perfect for attaching my D7000 to a telescope.

T mount

[...]after buying this item, it would not lock in with the 500mm lens I bought from the same place.Called Nikon, they told me if I forced it, I would snap the focusing plastic clip in the camera.

Worth every penny.

Nice quality item, belying its very reasonable cost. Bayonet mount fits snugly with no "monkey-motion," as it should.

Used with a Nikon D5000 for astrophotography. Solid - Obviously well designed / machined - locks onto the camera nice and securely.

EXCELLENT BUY

Bought this to use some old T-Mount lenses I had. Attached it to a 500mm Quantaray tele and mounted it to my D50 Nikon and it seems to work wonderfully. Need to shoot some frames and see how it does. So far it seems sturdy (metal) and fits to a "T", pun intended. If you own old T-Mount equipment, get one. Gonna try it on my Nikon FG next.

It's a T- mount

I bought this to use on a Celestron C90 Mak, 3.5 (90mm) Maksutov-Cassegrain Spotting Scope, to mount it to my Nikon DSLR. It does it's job without any problems. I don't use it that much so I don't know how durable it is.

Surprisingly versatile!

I picked this up for use with a T-mount lens, but when I received it, I discovered a neat bonus. The adapter has a threaded ring which attaches to the Nikon lens mount adapter via set screws. As it turns out, the diameter of the lens mount adapter is the same as a piece of 1 1/2" PVC, so with the T-mount adapter, a short piece of PVC, and a rear lens cap, I managed to make a very cheap macro extension for my Nikon D80. By moving the lens forward, I can now focus incredibly close. (see the photo) The only catch with using it this way is you need a lens with an aperture ring, since the lens is no longer attached to the camera. You also have to manually focus, and set the camera to manual mode, just like you would have to with any T-mount lens. And yes, I've used it with T-mount lenses, and it does that just fine as well. I just thought that the set screws and the ability to try some different stuff made it just a bit cooler!

I returned it

It might have just been me but I found this did not extend out far enough for me to reach the controls I needed to reach for connecting and disconnecting the lens. It needed to have slightly more depth to it to function easily. I returned it and had no problem with the return.

Nice accessory to have in the camera bag

This makes using other manufacturer's lenses a snap. I have a Nikon and can use several other lenses quite easily. Might have to have a second one day.

Perfect Solution

[...]I was able to take a 500mm that I still use on a pair of old Canon AE-1's and use it successfully with my Nikons. Even placed a 1.4 teleconverter in there and got good results at 700mm.

Works like a champ

I purchased this t-mount to adapt a 500mm mirror lens that I use on my Canon A-1 35mm. I just got into digital SLR photography and was very pleased that a simple [$] adapter was all I needed to be able to use the lens on my new Nikon D40. Obviously no autofocus, and the exposure has to be set manually, but that is easier than you may think.

An accessory ring available in most popular mounts which converts the lens mount of your SLR camera to a T-mount. This allows the attaching of all T-mount lens accessories, etc. to popular camera mounts.
