Questions & Answers

FREDERIC P : Looking to carry on airplanes a 13" Macbook Air, iPad Air, Nikon D7100 with three lenses. Will this work?ROBIN M : Should work but what are the lenses? Backpack is in 3 parts; open top half, partitioned bottom half and full length area next to your back. Mac book goes in the full length. The iPad also or possibly sideways in the top half. Bottom normally a D90 with mounted 18-200mm in center partition, 70-300mm in upper, SB-700 Speedlight laid straight in lower, and 35mm prime between all this. Top section has plenty of room for batteries, cleaning kits, shutter pickles, filters. Serves double duty in the snack department. Side pocket for water bottle. Easily more bagged lenses. Carried a compact tripod strapped sideways on the bottom. Have since had a chance to use the rain coat stored in the bottom compartment. Slips on and off easily and easily fits aircraft bin or under seat (main reason for getting). Carries very light for a lot of gear. Have used it for a day-pack and a 10 day excursion. Surprising amount of gear fits.SCOTT H : You might have trouble with the three lenses...but otherwise it would be fine.MARIANNA S : It should work with those items packed in it. I fill mine with an Olympus E-3 camera body, one lens, a LowePro filter holder, an Acer tablet and detachable keyboard, and a great many general travel items that most other people would carry in their suitcases. The filled pack fits under the seat in front of me on both the CRJ700 commuter plane and the Boeing 767 transatlantic plane. If necessary, it can also fit in the overhead compartment on the larger plane, but not on the smaller one. It is difficult to to lift into that compartment, though, because there is no grab handle on the bottom of the pack.

Not Designed for DSLR

5 stars for the bag quality and concept. It is compact and easy to carry. Now, the not so good. It does not have the chest strap making the shoulder straps tend to splay out. Spent too much time fooling with it while walking. Minus 1 Already lmited space to get the compact size. The 'T' slot for the DSLR is poorly designed and straight across rather than angled. Most DSLR's have a protruding grip on one side. To fit, the left most lower lens/accessory chamber needs to be collapsed to fit the body shape. This went from DSLR, 2 lenses, speedlight to DSLR, 1 lens, speedlight, and a couple of batteries. This was with a D90, not a large DSLR. Minus 1 I really wanted to like this bag.
