The Nikon 105mm macro 2.8 lens is what it clams to be. We used it already for both macro work and our daughters graduation photo shoot. Didn’t need to sharpen any more then it shot at. I took time to investigate macro lens to get good Quality. Yes, it’s a pretty penny to pay for, but you will instantly appreciate the investment.

The terms and conditions basically say they dont have to cover anything they claim to as any drop or spill would be from "abuse, misuse, mishandling", and if they do decide honor a claim, they may replace the item with a completely different one from another brand. Drop a Nikon camera? Well here is a Canon body. Only reason I even have this is that it was included for free with a lens purchase. Some excerpts from the contract: IIIB. COVERAGE… If service is required because of accidental damage during normal usage, the Administrator/Obligor has the option to repair the defective product or replace it with a product of equal or similar features and functionality, though not necessarily the same brand. A replacement part or product may be new or refurbished. III. WHAT IS NOT COVERED… (G) Damage from abuse, misuse, mishandling, introduction of foreign objects into the Covered Product, unauthorized modifications or alterations to a Covered Product; failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for operation and care of the Covered Product; external causes of any kind, including third party actions; fire; theft; insects; animals; exposure to weather; windstorm; sand; dirt; hail; earthquake; flood; water; acts of God or consequential loss of any nature… (K) Failures that occur outside of the 50 states of the United States of America and the District of Columbia… (R) any breakdown or condition that results from abnormal usage of the Covered Product…

What a relief to have coverage on a lens! It's the difference between taking a lens out into a potentially dangerous situation- ultimately the difference between getting an incredible shot or not. Being in Colombia working to help feed Venezuelan refugees on the border, every photograph I'm taking matters. So I am very thankful to have the peace of mind that I am covered should anything happen. I'm left to stay in the moment, capturing exactly what's around me.

In general, I am very careful with my equipment, but I like the fact that my new lens is covered for a year. It was part of my Adorama package for a new to me lens. I would definitely consider purchasing it in the future.

Love the lens, well built, focuses quickly, quiet and picture quality is great! The lens is a little heavy but the trade off of not having to carry several different lenses is worth it. Am excited to take this lens on our trip to Costa Rica the end of March! Service with Adorama is great!

Get this protection. I dropped my camera only 18"to a carpeted floor. Didn't think of damage, but was damaged beyond repair. I bought another lens just like the one I had. Get this Accidental Damage plan. It's a great lens and you will want this protection at a minimal cost.
