I've never used strobes before this kit. I am firing off the strobes with the Interfit IR that sits in the hot shoe. Kit is very easy to put together and break down, and has produced great portraiture results. The stands and the strobes are solid. The protective cover for the strobes are not long enough to hold the modeling lights. So, I have to take them off everytime I pack up. Not a big thing, but it would have been nice if they either provided shorter bulbs, or a longer casing.The soft box is a slight pain to put together. It's easy to do, but you have to bend the four rods to slide them into the corner pockets. One of the pockets has ripped at the seams, since the rods are held in by the tension of the rods. It can be easily sewn back together.The umbrella that comes with the kit is cheap. Do yourself a favor and go get a westcott or something else for only [$]more. I plan to upgrade the main and fill lights strobes soon, and I will use these 2 strobes as a background and hairlight. So, even in upgrading these strobes will still be useful to me.
