Good, Solid Attachment for Camera Tripod Socket

Have been wanting to try a camera strap attached to my Nikon D700's tripod socket. The Peak Design screw allowed me to do that without having to take an expensive chance on a new strap. I'm trying it out with one of my old favorite straps. Takes some getting used to after so many years with "traditional" attachment points. But I'm beginning to like it.

Great accessory for adding an additional mounting point for a sling or strap. Works particularly well with the Peak Design camera straps systems. Folding "D"ring loop provides a lower profile than one piece solid mounts.

Well-made, great design

I've been looking for a better way to carry a heavy camera and wanted to convert my current strap system into a sling. The screw mount was the last link in the new configuration and I bought this on spec that it would fit the bill. It works perfectly; in fact, better than I could have imagined. It's tight, yet flexible. And very well-made.

Great accessory for adding an additional mounting point for a sling or strap. Works particularly well with the Peak Design camera straps systems. Folding "D"ring loop provides a lower profile than one piece solid mounts.

The Peak Design PROdrive Screw lets you attach Leash, Cuff and sling-style straps (like those made by BlackRapid) directly to the bottom of your camera. The PROdrive is the same piece of hardware found in the PROplates for Capture, but it includes a durable rubber non-twist pad so you can use the connection screw as a stand-alone accessory. It screws into any 1/4 inch, 20-threads-per-inch standard tripod mount on any camera.

The carbon steel D-ring on PROdrive has an extra-wide load bearing axle, meaning that you can hang any camera/lens/grip combination from your strap and it will be completely safe and secure. The D-ring indexes in 3 positions, so when you are not using PROdrive the D-ring will rest tight against the bottom of your camera. Additionally, PROdrive has a 4mm hex-drive (hex wrench included) for ultra-secure installation. The PROdrive is made from solid carbon steel with a black oxide finish.
