Questions & Answers

Bonny W : Will this work with a Panasonic GH3 micro 4/3 camera? They frequently have 46mm diameter lenses, but I was going to get a step up adaptor. Will this fire from the Panasonic hot shoe? Does anyone know of a ring flash for the micro 4/3 format cameras?YI W : Can you put a UV filter on your lens? Check the filter's diameter.JEREMIAH N C : You can get a hot shoe adapter at any good camera store!DAWEN H : Check if the the Panasonic is a standard hot shoe, if it is, it will fire but unsure if it will do TTL or manual onlyRUT T : As long as the light ring fit, it should work. The reason it works is because this light ring turns on with a switch only and does not use the hot shoe trigger at all.
Shopper : does it work as a flashlight or it's just continuous light?ORVILLE S : Yes, it can flash left, flash right, flash both, or go continuous, though that mode would eat the batteries pretty quickly.CHARLES C : Continuous.AMEDEO C : It can operate as a flash or it can be turned on in a continuous modeANDREW R : This unit provides continuous light output.
renjih p : Is it compatible with SONY SLRs ? Specifically, Sony alpha 55 or 77 ? Lens is of 49 mm macro.CHARLES C : I use it with an a77.AMEDEO C : Not sure about Sony. As long as the lens you are using has a front screw mount which has the adapter sizes provided by the accessory rings.GUSTAVO R : i do not a sony, but is very likely that it will workGARY B : Check the camera user manual to find out if your camera accepts a screw-in filter ring in a diameter that matches this ringlight. If you don't have the user's manual, you can probably find the manual online at the manufacturer's website. The filter size might also be indicated on your lens -- look for a circle with a line through it (theta symbol) followed by the filter diameter.ANDREW R : This unit should work with the A55 or A77, however you will likely need a shoe adapter to mount the power supply.

Works good. Lights is on/off only.

This Polaroid ring light works good and is cheap. But that is exactly what you get. It does not flash but has a switch to either turn on constant or turn off. There is a power adapter for A/C too. Great for macro photography. Diamonds and jewelry really sparkles. The only problem is on a 52mm ring, you can not go to 35mm wide because the light ring will come into the picture at the edges. 50mm to 85mm is best. I used this with my Nikon D700 w/35-70 f/2.8 and 50mm f/1.8
